I hear some opinions that it is hard to focus on arrows with too bright background. If it annoys you, you can go to options to turn down the brightness of background. Xbox360 DDRs have 100% brightness as a default. The reasons are that I personally don't have any problems with 100% brightness and I wanted to entertain watchers, not only players. It is difficult to make entertainment products because everybody feels differently, so we try to meet majority's expectations and give options to customize.
