In a player's profile, what decides the player's "Best Song"?  At first, I thought it might be the most played song, like a "Player's Best", but if that were the case, Gradiusic Cyber wouldn't even be close to being mine.  It doesn't seem to be the best in terms of that player's skill, because I have several AAA's, and Gradiusic Cyber isn't one of them.  However, the same song is listed as the "Best Song" for most, if not all, of the top players on the leaderboard.

Also, I previously AAA'ed Catch It!, but it doesn't seem to have updated in my profile, which is odd, because I AAA'ed it over a month ago, but other AAA's that I've achieved since then have updated.  I even tried AAA'ing it again, and the score didn't update on my profile.  Any reason why that is?

Now questions about the Scoreboards page.  I've got more AA's and AAA's than MegaManX, but his skill rating is higher.  Is a higher number of skill points awarded when it takes a player fewer attempts to AA or AAA a song?  I've noticed several other inconsistencies like this.

- kisa aquarius (#11) has 73 AA's, CPT AJR (#13) has 73 AA's and an A, lynnku511 (#10) has 74 AA's, and | Black Waltz | (#12) has 76 AA's, yet all of them are tied with a skill rating of 2390. I figured with how many AA's they each had, they'd be ranked in the order I listed them.
- puppychow17 (#14) has 78 AA's, more than all four of the players I mentioned in my previous point. Yet, he's ranked lower than all four of them.
- JackTheWhack (#17) has 24 AAA's, more than the majority of the players in the top ten. However, he's in 17th place, beneath many players that have no AAA's at all.
- Speaking of JackTheWhack, Bips (#20) has the same grade count as him, with the exception of a C owned by JackTheWhack that Bips doesn't have. However, JackTheWhack has 20 more skill points than him. Is a C really worth that much?

Sorry to fire out such an onslaught of questions, but these have been bugging me for a while.

Thanks for voicing your concerns.

We're aware that the Best Song isn't accurate for many people.  We're working on fixing this.

As for your scores, it is strange that one score didn't update but others obtained afterwards did.  I would recommend updating your stats again and seeing if it changes.  To update your stats follow the steps listed in the FAQ under "Why aren't my stats showing up?".

The scoreboards currently work by giving players points based on playing songs and getting grades on them.  The difficulty (foot rating) of the song also plays a role, so an A on a 9 footer is worth more than an A on 8 footer.   Since we do not get data for songs played below Expert, we scaled it players starting out can get a large number of points for just passing a song on Expert/Oni.  This is why if someone has played more songs than someone else their rank can be higher, even if they have some worse scores.  It shouldn't be too hard for someone better to play the same number of songs and then move up in ranking.  With that said we have noticed that it does not seem fair at times.  We are very seriously considering altering the system for rankings.

One last thing relating to scoreboards is that DLC can unfairly alter a user's rank (as you can see with misokatu).  He's played more songs and his rank skyrocketed because of it.  We intend to alter this.

Again, thanks for letting us know of what you think about this stuff and making sure that we are aware.

Yeah, the "Why aren't my stats showing up?" page was actually the first place I looked while I was trying to resolve the problem, but it didn't work, or at least not for Catch It!  I'm probably going to try deleting my current score and getting the AAA again.  Hopefully, that'll work.

I took another look at the Scoreboard and found yet another little oddity.  DukAmok has AAA'ed everything in the game, listing his total as 73 AAA's.  However, I know for a fact that I've also played every song in the game on Expert and Oni, but between my AA's and AAA's, I have a total of 83 scores.  Further, misokatu's "glitched" scores add up to 104 total grades.  However, upon looking at each player's profile, everyone has the same number of songs on their list.  My theory is that when a score is achieved with an improved letter grade, the previous letter grade isn't always removed.  Any accuracy to that?

Thanks for filling me in on the other stuff.

New problem.  All the scores under my profile have been erased.  I checked the Records section on my game, and all of my scores are intact there, but my profile on this site claims I've never played any songs before.

Just in case it's a one-time thing, I tried accessing the Ranked Leaderboards to try to push my scores out to my profile.  Still, a message acknowledging that this problem has been noticed would be nice.

Hey, thanks again for these comments.  That note of the grades not adding up is helpful.

Did you do anything in the game (you mentioned you were thinking of delete a score) before you lost you stats?  Any info you can give us would be helpful.  When your stats update, essentially all your scores get uploaded, even if they are old, so your stats shouldn't be lost for good.  We are going to look in to this issue, but for the meantime I would keep trying to view the leaderboads as outlined in the FAQ to attempt to update your scores.

The issue seems to have resolved itself, but thanks anyway.

I remember I fired up Universe 2 last night to play online and I decided to check the leaderboards to try to push my new scores out.  I do know that I was using a friend's 360 at the time (but with my old hard drive, with all my scores), and he hasn't played Universe 2 on his console before.

My theory is that maybe there's a problem when trying to update scores from a new system.  Not sure why this would be if the scores are kept on the hard drive.  It seems to be a one-time thing (at least, it was in my case), and restarting the game and accessing the Ranked Leaderboards again should successfully push the current saved scores to the player's DDROC profile.

...That's just a theory, though.  Not sure how much accuracy that holds.

Hm, I don't see why the system would matter so long as you are playing under the same GamerTag and are logged in to Xbox LIVE.  I'm glad your data went through.  My guess is that there was some error with your connection before that caused your data to upload improperly - resulting in your empty profile.  I don't know if it was related to playing on the other system or not, but you've given us something to consider as a possible source of the problem.
