Wow it is frustrating to login only to loose your place in the board.  On login, you should be redirected right back where you were!

We'll take this into consideration.  For now I would recommend pressing the back button on your browser after you log in to view the last page you were on.  If you don't appear to be logged on just refresh.

Well, the problem is if you are going to reply to a thread.  If you push the back button, you go back to the page in a not-logged-in status, so the reply button is not available.  However, you can then push the refresh button to reload the page, and you will be logged in.  Finally, you can push the reply.

Hi.  Is anyone working on improving these forums?  Nuisances like the above are forcing me to other forums that just work better.  Also, is it possible to increase the session time on these forums?  Why do I have to login so often?

He is probably used to other forums that don't have expiring cookies so that he doesn't have to log in every time he visits.

Because this forum doesn't have email notification of topics, and because the "recent topics" section doesn't include any links to the actual topics, I use the RSS feed to stay on top of things.  When I click a link from the RSS feed, I can read the thread, but I am not logged in.  So, when I want to reply, I have to login first.  When I do, then you are redirected to the homepage, which sucks.

This forum is very user unfriendly compaired with say bemanistyle or ddrfreak.

I can't say when/if your initial feature request will be implemented.  For our forums we collect user opinions and bugs and will generally implement a bulk of changes at once as opposed to little features here and there.  Your opinions are important to us so please do not think we disregard them.

If you would actually read the problem moose, you would find I am not forgetting to login.  In fact, the very act of logging in is what is causing the headache.

When my RSS reader shows a reply to a watched topic here, I click the link to open a browser to view it.  Now, there is a lovely process I get to go through:

1.  Login
2.  Be re-directed to the front page.
3.  Click "back" button on browser to go back to the topic I was viewing.
4.  Back to topic, but in a not-logged in state, so reply button is not present.
5.  Click "refresh" in browser to reload the topic in a logged-in state.
6.  Finally reply button is present.  I can click reply.

It gets old fast.  Other community forums work much better.  The session cookie keeps me automatically logged in, so I never actually need to login in on every visit.  In the event that I logout, there is a much easier process:

1.  Login
2.  Click reply.
