Cause DDR and IIDX arent the only music games by Konami, lol.

We had PNM 8 in my arcade a long time ago.  I liked it.  Although I could only do 5 buttons and not 9 buttons, lol.

I have Pop'n music 10-14 CS, never had the chance to play at an Arcade before :(.

Great game though, I find it the most enjoyable bemani game to play behind DDR. The hardest song I can pass in Colors EX which is either a 38 or 39...

pop'n music is fun.  I have a Konami ASC and a bunch of the recent mixes.  I prefer playing in the arcades (as I do with most music games) but with a good controller the experience is almost the same for CS versions.  The hardest songs I can pass are 34s and I don't really have a favorite mix.

I really like Pop'n Music's song selection; it covers enough genres that everyone should be able to find something they like.  (if they can read Japanese)

You don't really need to know how to read Japanese :P. I was playing pop'n long before I knew Hiragana and Katakana. As soon as you get a feel to how the controls work, and what modes are what (Which can be found on various guides around the internet) it's really quite easy to make your way throughout the games. Though knowing Japanese does really make it a more enjoyable experience. In fact, I used pop'n music to help study my Katakana when I was learning it, since most of the genres are listed as katakana on the wheel.

Haha, that's awesome - pop'n music helping you study Japanese.

I just use the genres and graphics to remember the songs I like.  It's kind of tough to find the songs I want to play in the arcade though because there are SO MANY and sorting by title does nothing for me.  The benefit to this is that I end up playing a lot of random songs and hearing a lot of cool new stuff.

I used to play all the time, but have gotten bored with the game. When Adventure CS comes out, I'll start up again.

I played Pomu 8th on a trip up to Memories Games (a Bemani arcade in St. Joseph MO) - I was a complete newbie and could only do up to 12's or so, haha. I got to play Love Love Sugar though (and fail horribly because it was like an 18), but I had a blast and really want to play again.

What was really cool is that I was trying Battle Mode, and I got my mom to play with me =o
Of course it was already hard with no speed mods and random speedups, but we still had fun. I also got her to play DanceManiaX with me when the person I was playing with gave up and walked off. Mom never plays video games, so it was a big thing for me.

We had PnM 6th for years, and it just disappeared one day, hasn't been seen at any affiliated arcades since.

Thank god that the home releases are pretty much exactly like the arcade releases.

That's a hint, Konami.

I can't beat any 42s D:

I've only played for a short time, maybe less than a year on a DA.

I wish pop'n was licensed for NA. I'd get one.

I've got nearly every version for PS2, but I can only play as high as a few 28's.  Kind of depressing after reading about people only having a few versions but being worlds better than me.  =/

Pop'n Music is great! I'm still a newbie popper.

I like it, but I don't have Pop'n controller.

My fav characters:

Sanae-chan

Rie-chan

Mimi & Nyami (using Gurren Lagann outfit in pnm FEVER)

Current fav songs: Votum Stellarum (Forest 25 RMX) and White Lovers

Goodbye (^^)v

Riyu comes back!! Please, forget what I said before....

Yeah, I'd definitely get a US Pop'n if it came out on Wii or PS2. I'd probably end up playing it on El Cheapo Controller though, haha.

If Pop'n came out to the US, it would be best if it was placed on the Wii. Colorful cute game would fit best for a very seemingly kiddish console.

I'd just be happy if I could even find an upgrade kit for these things. None of my 5 suppliers have them!

Ahh, I want this! How long has Pop'n BeMouse been announced?
It's a Pop'n game for the PC; here's a gameplay video. o_o;

That was announced a while ago (October?).  I believe the songlist is pretty short.  It's definitely cool and novel though.

I'm not trying to be a fanboi here, but before you make such childish claims, perhaps you should check NPD's demographics concerning the Wii.  The Wii isn't any more "kiddish" than the PS2, and includes a wide variety of games marketed to players of all types interested in a unique control method not available anywhere else.   Of these, less than 2% are concidered "casual kid gamers".

Of course, the game would sell best on the PS2 due to the ginormous installed base, but would also sell very well on the Wii simply because of it's popularity and leading market share in current gen systems.

Personally, I'd love to see the game released on multiple platforms... the more rhythm games, the better.

The Wii is marketed as a family console in mind while the others aren't.

I don't need to do anymore research than that.

Aha, good to know I'm just behind the times X)

Now that's yet another game to blow my money on whenever I go to Japan.

I highly doubt that game will ever be released in the U.S.  It is very... Japanese.  Don't get me wrong: I love the game, but I don't think its style is marketable here.

If they did bring it the US, it better be on PS2.  I spent a lot of money on my ASC and I'm not buying another for a different console.Tongue out

Agora Perry, you could use a GameCube adapter...

I want to play Pop'n, what's a good place to get a mod chip for my PS2 along with a good mix, and an ASC.

I'm having fun with my Pump It Up GX, currently running NX, to be upgraded to Pro.
