Hi Everyone!

Remember when DDR Ultramix came out for Xbox, and the online mode was annoying because you had to make a new room each time?

Then Ultramix 2 came and fixed that problem, and added tons more (including sharing steps, and a online tournament mode)

Ultramix 3 and 4 improved on these features, adding a cute chat room, along with the ability to change the difficulty and still be in the same room - however Tournament mode was taken out.

Let's not forget the downloadable songs, which transfered over to later Ultramixes!

Now, fast forward to DDR Universe and DDR Universe 2. All of the options from the Ultramixes are gone... and is pretty much back to how Ultramix 1 started out.

Why can't we have more online modes that are available in party mode?

(Power and Speed mode for example)

Why can't we carry over downloadable songs and have more of them?

Why can't we upload and share our steps and videos like we used to be able to?

Why is the online options so spare?

Plus, many times we can't play the songs due to some internet issues - it will only go through songs A through M, etc.

I really hope and want the next DDR Universe to have a much better online mode, with more downloadable content.

What's going on?

So who agrees?Smile

As for the PS2 online world I think as least doubles mode would rock. ^^;;

I agree with you man, with so many other games having very robust online modes and content, seems almost like an after thought on DDR Mixes. :(

Downloadable charts would be awesome.  Larger rooms, being able to join a room mid game so you don't have to wait around would be  nice.  Weekly downloadable content(Look at Rock Band). More insentive to play online(NOTONLINEONLYSONGSOMG), maybe unlock songs quicker by playing online...?  An online quest mode?  A team of 4 people join up to take on a progressively harder songlist, then their score is compared against other teams?  FORCE DANCE PAD ONLY ONLINE...ummm...heh, well, thats just my preference. :P

I WOULD LOVE FOR KONAMI TO FIX THE ONLINE PLAY!!! I hope they are reading this.....

I agree with just about everything you said Silvercube! So I am just going to copy and paste here:

Why can't we have more online modes that are available in party mode? --Hear Hear!!

(Power and Speed mode for example) --Power! Awesome! Speed, now that would be fun!

Why can't we carry over downloadable songs and have more of them? --Amen!

Why can't we upload and share our steps and videos like we used to be able to? --This could be cool!

Why are the online options so spare? --Yeah, why?

Plus, many times we can't play the songs due to some internet issues - it will only go through songs A through M, etc.  --I can't even tell you how frustrating this is!

--Also, I would like to know WHO is on a pad and WHO is on a controller. I don't care about playing against others with a controller... it would just be nice to know.

That would be awesome. Whats up with the "downloadable content?" 10 songs? Come on bring the ultramix library to 360.

It would be nice if we could ACTUALLY PLAY!!!! Sheesh! Konami needs to make it easier  to play against others! K1LLGANNON kept trying to join and that was a mess!  I don't know what else to do, plus, when others do join, we can only get to the M's on the song list... very frustrating...... Then we miss out on lots of good music....

Did you ever get a good solid game going with silvercube, JUJEE? I really want to see some form of the Ultramix online interface come back. Plus the 150 or so downloadable songs would be nice too.

It's too bad, Silvercube and I are good friends, but our internets don't like each other or something! Of course, we can play Contra, Caracassone, Karaoke Revolution and a bunch of other games without problems, it's just DDR Universe 1 and 2! Therefore, I'm sure it's on Konami's end... Some nights are better than others though... Sometimes, we just go and play a ranked game just to get a song that starts with an N or an S.... (Because we usually only get the songs up til the M's in Player mode)

I would also like the Ultramix Library of songs... There are LOTS of songs in the PS2 library as well! Just give us ALL of them to download... I think I need a bigger hard drive! heh heh!!......

Wow! My hubby and I only have the 20 gig, (and we still have 11 gigs free!) I can't imagine having a 320 gig! That's insane! I guess that's for the people who put EVERYTHING on the 360, every arcade game, every demo, every pic pack, every movie, all the songs in their library, every theme, every game download, etc... That is insane! Wow!

Silly internet issues...

One time Jujee and I had a full song list on DDR Universe. It was a miracle!

As for a 320 hd, thats crazy because I have a 20 hd and i still have 9 gb remaining... i dont need bigger sizes..

im going to pm konami about the internet issues, because last night was really bad. I've just been a bit busy... so i will get to everything in all due time : )

I have the 120 and its halfway full. I have 3 seasons of friends, and more demos and arcade games than I remember. I guess when you have more than you need you just don't delete stuff when you are through with it. I used to have a 20 gig and I kept it fairly clean. Stuff like developer vids, promotional game vids and such form the bulk of my used space as well.

Do think the issues might have to do with the number of people in a room??? No, I've played with only Silvercube before and we could only get to the M's....

Or maybe it is location?? I wonder if two people in the same time zone have an easier time getting all the songs... Then you add others to the room from various time zones... oh wait, nevermind... I played with a person in my time zone and we could only get to the M's...

NAT settings? No.... Silvercube, K1LLGANNON and I all have our NATs open....

What other possible theories are there? Don't tell me I have to wait for the planets to align perfectly, and be wearing my lucky socks, and everyone has to first rub their tummies while singing Kumbaya and hopping on one foot in order for the game to finally work properly??? ...........

Yeah its very strange because I play with Masterkitty, and we get to R.

The NAT's is the best explanation I could think of..

it would be nice if Konami told us..but more importantly ,fixed the issues..

I am bumping this thread up.. : )

Here is the entire story which happened the other day:

 Hello Everyone : )

First of all , I just wanted to start off by informing everyone of Konami's customer service number [which I finally found online] :

310 - 220 - 8100.

Now why is this important?

As many of you might know, the DDR Universe series on Xbox 360 has had a few problems - especially online. Its strange that the old Ultramix [specifically 2,3, and 4] series were miles ahead in terms of its online features.

The main problem with Universe 1 and 2's online is that when someone were to create a player match, and then a person joins, many of the songs {up to 30} were not able to be played. As depicted in this video http://youtube.com/watch?v=OkogW_p7s7E

Now, we thought that maybe it was an issue with our NAT's [that it may have been Moderate or Strict - but this could not be as our NAT's are Open] that only enabled us to play through songs A-M, but we all knew that everyone was having this issue. Some were able to play through songs A-R at times as well.. and I will explain why.

I called xbox live customer service and told them about the problems. They said "check your NAT's" "delete the mega songpack and re-download it" and "delete your friend you play DDR with and re-add them".

So we did all of the above...and that is when we found if someone does not have the song pack, you can play songs A -R. This is the issue - the 10 songs you can purchase is causing an issue online. Not to mention the songs you unlock are also part of the problem. It seems that there is a technical issue in the game that does not seem to register that there are over 70 songs you can play from in a player match.

When creating a ranked match, these issues do no not exist, as my friend and I seldom have any issues in that scenario - its only in Player match. I know many of you have seen and experienced this issue, and now we finally have the best possible answer.

When calling xbox live, they gave me Konami's customer service number [650 - 654 - 5687] - but it turns out that the number was no longer in service. So that's when I spent a good 30 minutes looking for it online [because the number is not even listed in the instruction manuals]

Anyways, I called up Konami twice over the last few days, telling them the issue with Universe 1 and 2 [and also made a suggestion that the song packs could work in sequels, like the Ultramix series did]

He was very surprised by these online issues, as he never heard about them. Konami had thought all this time that it was an Xbox Live issue, when in fact is was really an issue with Konami itself.

So, if you guys would like to call Konami [ 310 - 220 - 8100] and also tell them your online experiences, as well as any other feedback, that would be great. The more the better.

Anyways, thanks for your time and I hope this post was of value to you.

Have a good day,
- Silvercube : )

I have an idea, instead of having four sets of tiny arrows in a four-way online match, why not one large set of arrows in the center of the screen? The timing indicators would still be in place (Good, Bad, Excellent, etc.) In Ultramix 3 it does this in a local four player battle. I think this would greatly improve online play in the next Universe game. Well that and the ability to play the entire song list. Looks like Konami is avoiding that issue like the plague.

your point is so strong, i feel like this is a 1st generation xbox live game instead of a new released 360 game

DDRSuperStar, You are very right. Its a good core game however. I urge you to play Ultramix 2-4 (they had'nt quite gotten all the kinks out in Umix one) and go see what the 360 version could be. They had it right, I dont know why they changed it so much.

I played my UM 2 online once, at my friends house, it was a very seemless thing. Unfortunatly I lack a 360, and LIVE for that matter. But UM2s interface was really good all around for online play....

I'm having fun with my Pump It Up GX, currently running NX, to be upgraded to Pro.

K1LLGANNON, It's only been a week since a Konami rep last posted in the incomplete songlist thread! I'm sure they are very busy trying to figure out the issue... Maybe they are even testing and re-testing Universe 3 to make sure that we DON'T have these issues with the new release??? YES? Let's hope so!!

who cares about gameplay if there is no features..

this game needs a lobby of players with a chatroom... its essential for any type of game that wants an online community
