I was curious how similar the songlist would be to the U.S. PS1 Disney Mix. I realize most people don't have that mix and it's HTF, but I do have it, so was wondering if there would be much overlap.

Oh no, please tell me there is a non-bundle version too. *sighs*

I really hope so...

I added it to my Amazon wish list, but I'm not buying it as a bundle version...

Hmm...

I notice that the bundle comes with two dance mats...that's not a bad deal :). But they should sell it stand-alone too.

This game sorta bothers me, and the reason why is because the majority of everything I've seen in this game so far seems to scream that they've downgraded things back to the level of HP1.  The gimmicks are back to being the way they were on there.  Hand markers are no longer vivid.  And a lot of the graphics enhancements from HP2 are nowhere to be found.  I hope I'm wrong on this, but if I am this is NOT gonna be good...

Guess we will find out soon, piepiepie75!

The songlist really has me excited (from what I have seen thus far, which is not much)

I'm hoping it will be revealed soon.

I'll probably wait till the game is available seperately from the bundle as I don't need any more dance mats :)

It's 3/18/09 today, less than 3 weeks away! ^_^

Not buying it and I'm not sure why Konami would think this was a good idea.  They sure aren't going off the 'success' of the last Disney DDR.

@ yummymummy: The last Disney edition was music from the Disney channel. This Disney edition is music from Disney movies. Big difference :)

@ Nicole: Have your grandparens try and play DDR. They might get addicted too! :)

I don't see a big difference.  In fact I see less people wanting to buy it because the songs are not current. My children are 11, 8 and 6 and have absolutely no interest in the songs we've seen so far.  Here's a partial songlist...

It’s A Small World

Circle of Life

Zip A Dee Doo Dah

A Spoonful of Sugar

The tiki tiki tiki room

Cruella De Vil

Bibbido-Boppidi Boo

I can't even imagine how they will have to alter some of the the songs in order to make them danceable.

I realize you will not agree with me and I really don't mean to be a negative nelly but my god, it's like Konami has dumbed down all the wii games.

We'll just have to wait and see how it does sales wise.  I think it will flop.

LOL!! Then I'll never get to play my DDR games ever again! But no.. My grandparents tried it once and they say it is hard! [yet very fun!!] They always wonder how I can do it for so long.. And my grandparents are in their 50's.. :P And workout pretty much everyday and then think DDR is hard? PSH. Think again!

If they made the songs danceable before, the can do it again.. Konami has master-minds working there.. o3o'' So who knows what they are thinking.. And those songs makes me think about when I was younger! C: I'm 14 and I think these as classics.. And now and days.. You have to force us to try something new.. x.<'' Maybe rent it and let them play with it.. Thats something that my mom would do with me.  We say one thing and we usually like it in the long run.. :D [Trust me.. :D]

And since the Wii is usually a BIG interest for smaller children, they try to make it for them.. C: And things like the 360/PS2 [and hopefully PS3] They will make it more for us teenagers / Adults to enjoy.. So I think it would be a good game. As long as there isn't some stupid Venue Mode or something.. -sighs- OH! WAIT! There is a stupid Venue Mode.. Oh god. Maybe I should stay away from this game too..

And that's absolute ******it considering that there's a LOT of adults that play Wii along with children or just on their own.  I can tell you right now Wii Fit and the Wii in general isn't being primarily bought for kids, and the fact of the matter is that Konami is throwing potential sales away (and I can actually say this for all versions, for different reasons) just so they can have what?  The ability to say that there's a lighthearted DDR, a teenage DDR, and a DDR for HD elites?  Konami better hope to hell that this "Dance Hero" that Activision/Blizzard has patented better not actually happen with some new innovative gameplay method that ACTUALLY resembles dancing.  With online, leaderboards, and a decent songlist with DLC I could easily see it taking away the more casual DDR audience while gaining even more people from word of mouth assuming the game is good to decent for a first release.  And with versions identical to each other, it'd be a no brainer purchase on your console of choice, whereas with these separate DDR releases you don't know what kind of stupid crap they're gonna pull to try to "cater" to different console owners until the disc is in the system and it's too late.

As for DDR Disney Grooves, I'm getting it but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that something major is gonna be wrong with the game that completely screws it over.  From what I've seen already, most of the game looks to be taking a major step backward from HP2.  From the graphics engine itself, to the rehashed HP1 versions of gimmicks, to hand markers no longer being vivid, it looks like it's being dumbed back down for no good reason at all.  They didn't pull this crap with DDR Disney Channel, that game, even with it's shortcomings, for the most part was fully featured.  Step charts were still typical difficulty for the series, and many if not all main options were present.  If DDR Disney Grooves doesn't at the minimum have all the features that HP2 had, I'm calling foul and it could have a major impact on whether I decide to roll the dice on HP3 or not.

Now if I'm wrong and DDR Disney Grooves turns out to be pretty solid, I like barbecue sauce with my crow.  And I'll eat it proudly.

Oh, and as far as Konami's support has been concerned other than liking HP1 and 2 the ONLY good games I've played of theirs on Wii have been Gradius Rebirth and Pro Evolution Soccer.  The latter two felt like COMPLETE efforts and are outstanding games.  As I've said, I like them, but the Bemani group had BETTER step it up.  Otherwise they're flicking off A LOT of people.  Then again, with the way they've done things recently they probably don't even care...

There's clearly a demographic who will get this game. :)

I have faith this game will be alright.

I like the old Disney movie songs, so its appealing to me. As long as it has speed mods, I'll be content even if there's no online play :(

The thing that sold this for me was that we'll actually have (at least some) Konami-made covers! Disney Channel was just covers taken from Disney CDs (or so I'm told), and those songs stink anyways! The It's a Small World cover with Alison Wade on vocals sounds dreamy~

And yes, there will be a demographic who gets this game. Sure, all the hardcore DDR gamers might not get it, but it will strike a chord with parents of smaller children (Preschool-Elementary school age) or just with people who like old-school Disney music (like me!)

With only one week away from it's release, i want to know who is going to get the game?

I would...seriously i would, but there are two factors affecting that decision:

1. I have no money =(

and

2. I don't have a Nintendo Wii...

So who out there is going to get the game? =)

Max is back making DDR videos! This time it will include DDR X US CS and soon enough, the DDR X AC!

NEW VIDEOS!!

I would get it.. But for course I want to see the Songlist first.. And also.. I don't have any money [[ I do but.. ]] I need to save for my other 3 DDR games..D'': Which all of them together cost 60 bucks.. And.. I think its only the bundle version.. And I don't need 2 more pads sitting in the box collecting dust! :''C

I seriously hope DDR Winx Club is not an indication of what we're getting in DDR Disney Grooves.  Those charts are easier than DDR Mario Mix.  One warm up/just for the hell of it mix is enough, I don't need two.  And holy crap, where is the NON-BUNDLED release Konami.  People have the mats NOW!

I'm gonna go ahead and call this too, DDRDG will have NO speed modifiers. Winx Club doesn't have them and that's based of the HP2 engine.  I don't get why they were removed, Disney Channel still had them so why wouldn't this and don't give me the demographics excuse either seeing that DDRDCE was aiming for a similar, if not identical type of user base.

I'll be taking a wait and see approach on this.  I just can't shake the feeling that if I were to buy this on launch day, I'm gonna end up rolling snake eyes.

D: I don't get why the only sell the Bundled version.. I mean.. Mostly everyone has a pad now.. -cough- But anyway.. Didn't know Winx Club had a DDR game.. I guess I should you tube a video to see how.. 'interesting' it is.

-shakes- No speed modifiers.. D'': AGAIN? I mean. Really? HP didn't have Speed Modifiers either did it? =/ Why does it seem like so far, all the DDR games on the Wii seem to lack what the PS2 and 360 have? Does Wii owners doesn't have the right to have the same options as us PS2 owners? -shrugs- Yeah, we might can shake our hands like crazy people. and have our Miis dance to silly music.. But I have no interest in that [[ the Mii thing ]] And we also have Gimmicks but.. I like to have my arrows a certain way when I dance.. Or I"m not as good as I usually would be.

I'm waiting for the song list release.

From there, I'll probably wait once I can get a non-bundled version :)

Found these new screenshots online. I notice that every screenshot from the song wheel shows that particular song as having the ratings "1/2/4/6". I suspect that these could possibly be "placement ratings", but we'll see when it comes out. Here's the press release by the way:

EL SEGUNDO, CA - April 1, 2009 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced that DanceDanceRevolution® Disney Grooves for the Wii™ will be available tomorrow (April 2) at retail stores nationwide. DanceDanceRevolution Disney Grooves is an extraordinary value as it comes bundled with two dance mats. Now, players will have the ability to dance with one another - to 40 classic Disney dance remixes - without having to purchase an additional dance pad. Additionally, the game takes advantage of the unique capabilities of the Wii™ through several unique modes of play and the ability to customize your Mii™ - giving fans the ultimate interactive Disney dancing experience.

DanceDanceRevolution Disney Grooves features some of the most popular Disney characters of all-time including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy, all brought to life with enhanced graphics. Additionally, numerous new modes make this DanceDanceRevolution game unique from any other release to date. For a more personalized experience, DanceDanceRevolution Disney Grooves will allow players to customize their very own Miis with special Disney costumes in its Dressing Room mode. In Groove World, players achieve goals to unlock cool new costumes, stages and songs. Workout Mode, Training Mode and Advanced Mode will challenge the physical limits of experienced players. The game will also feature a My Studio mode that enables players to take pictures of their customized characters or strike a pose with classic Disney characters.
