Hottest Party != Sequel warranting product....

I'm having fun with my Pump It Up GX, currently running NX, to be upgraded to Pro.

Unfortunately I don't know anything else about the upcoming games besides what was announced the news article.

Players can learn real dance moves and practice the same routines as the characters with the brand new Hottest Training Mode

This sounds interesting.  Makes me think of Para Para Paradise...

It's time for dance.

Triple Stomp (still considered hands until something changes) is probably put in here instead of the other games so they can test it out, being the newest DDR line of games.

I'm also glad that Konami is taking action on using Triple Stomp. I'm curious to see how they will use this within gameplay. I can see a couple more copies of this game being sold because this was added, which I guess Konami thought of before hand.

I still hate the Chibi characters. They look dumb and I wish I could turn them off.

Speed mods yet? I hope they're added.

Triple Stomp is probably a 3-note stream of 1/4th notes.

I would like an SN3.

Trailer:  http://www.gametrailers.com/player/34032.html

I was introduced to DDR via Hottest Party, and so far this release makes me sad.  It seems like all the new effort went into non-DDR-like features that players looking for more DDR could care less about.  And the Mii face on a dancer's body is just freaking wrong... if you're going to play as a Mii, make it a Mii, not some half-bred mutant.  And, can you please fix the models already?  Please?  They look completely ridiculous.  Also, no mention of any online capability, so I doubt there is any.  Thanks for nothing Konami.

I hope they at least include more dance/rave/Japanese tracks this time around.  I can only play about 1/3 of the original Hottest Party tracks because the other 2/3 of the music is so painful.

You need to get a 360 or PS2, Joe : )

I have a Wii too, and Hottest Party needs much to improve on...

Yah... I know... Problem is, I'd be buying the 360 for only DDR.  ITG PC gets me through right now.  But sadly no online there either.

The 360 has a few music rhythm games actually.

Boom Boom Rocket can be played on the Dance Pad, and Go Go Break Steady is coming out soon.

I think you would like the 360 : )

Whoa! The characters are.... interesting... What's the matter with the arrows? Is that when you use a Wii-mote? That's cool! Hottest Training mode sounds awesome!! All 3 of these new games look so cool!! (Too bad we are a one console family... --sigh--)

"Hottest Party != Sequel warranting product...."

I dunno about that. I thought the songs were really good. It didn't have speed mods, and they axed the only hard song (two songs?) that the Japanese version had. But despite that, Hottest Party did not suck. Hottest Party with speed mods is literally enough for me to buy it. Whatever else is just nice.

For what it's worth, I'm not a fan of the art style in HP either. But I do like that Konami makes 2-3 completely different looking DDR games every year with different features and different songs.

I wonder if "triple stomps" are really hands.  When I initially read that I interpreted it as some kind of jackhammer thing.  Does anyone have any evidence that confirms these are hands and not something else?  In my head it makes much more sense for a new feature to be hands over something like "hit the arrow rapidly three times", but I just haven't seen any evidence.

Triple stomps could be some lame implementation of rolls that have to be hit 3 times.  I have no idea, I'm just throwing the thought out there.  Hands would make the most sense, but why call them triple stomps?

Also, why are there no speed mods?  This is just giving more fuel to those "1x no bar or it doesn't count" idiots.

Well, since hottest party already has "double stomps" (a note encased in ice... one "stomp" to break the ice, another to hit the note), I'm 99.9% positive a "triple stomp" is just a jackhammer gimmic.  Besides, it would be pretty hard to do a hands move if you are already holding a wiimote and nunchuk in each hand...

Speaking of... when you turn hand markers off in HP2, they better make them stay off until you turn them on.  I hate turning them off every single time I play.  Ugh!

"Hottest Party != Sequel warranting product...."

I don't know about that either.  It was listed in the top 100 selling games of last year, even before its european launch.  It'll easily sell 1 million before HP2 comes out.  Konami would be foolish not to produce a sequel to a million seller, even if it isn't as "hard core" as you'd like it to be.

If "triple stomps" in HP2 are actually just like hands, I'd make buying a Wii my next goal in life. Hands would add so much more to the game. Not to mention SSB Brawl is amazing too, haha. But it would seem that if double stomps already exist, then triple stomps would be the same thing just with 3 instead of 2. But who knows? We'll just have to wait until the games come out. By the way, are there official release dates yet?

On a side note, I wish they'd give us something to make our mouths water in those silly trailers. Regular gameplay of one song over and over again isn't all that interesting.

In my opinion Hottest party 1 needed harder songs. because i was looking to get better at the game but i couldn't really because there weren't any really hard songs

I loved HOTTEST PARTY 1, I can't wait for the sequel! =D

I personally didn't mind the absence of speed mods, however songs like THE REASON were a female doggie to play without them. Other than those few instances, it was like DDR of olde and I enjoyed that. Smile

Really? There were just about as many 9s in it as there were in SN2 CS and Universe 2. In fact, you could say that the overall difficulty of HP1 was higher than the other DDR games because it had the same amount of 9s, but a smaller song list.
