for the previous thread I made, I did some research and as I thought before, I claimed no one can AAA sightread 70 different songs (thinking using the foam pad), I did not think about using the controller.

So I went back last night and used the controller and if I, (A TWO MONTH PLAYER OF DDR) can sightread Universe 2 with a controller and make AA A and B scores on every song, I will now conclude that the best players in the world can do so with a controller as well and make AAA scores.

If you felt I offended you or personally attacked you in anyway I am sorry. The thread at first was mainly to find out if the ranking system was fixed. Look whose ranked #1, as pointed out in the previous thread, that is a glitch and is getting fixed.  So again I am sorry and anyone who felt the need to flame me last time, I hope we can resolve things...

 God Bless

I'm sure you meant well by this topic, but you pretty much just gave those guys another thread to flame you in, should they feel like it.

Besides, like they said, there are people that are skilled enough that they can actually sightread AAA a new chart on pad.  I know it's hard to believe, but that's the reason why these players are more well-known compared to Billy Everyteen.

Let's just all keep to the negativity and flaming to ourselves,

and instead post positive, informative, and supportive responses.

I seldom flame or attack anyone, so just remember, its a forum, and be courteous ^_^

Besides, why make a big deal about the leaderboards anyways? If you know you are awesome at DDR, be happy! You don't need to be #1 on here to prove it to me. : )

It would be neat but I don't think that can work well, correct me if I am wrong.

Honestly there's not a whole lot you'd need to apologize for.  Most people were being an *** to you rather unfairly, but most of those people were just upset that you had the mindset that no one out there could be that good at DDR.  There are A LOT of good DDR players out there, and if everyone who was good at DDR at the arcades actually played Universe2 (most top tier DDR/ITG players do not play home versions because they are much easier than the arcades), there would be literally hundreds of people who would have the entire game AAAed, with most of the songs being sightread.

So to put it short - yes, there are many players out there who are good enough to AAA hard songs on sightreads.

AHHHH.... Why can this guy not understand that 2 of the best DDR (PAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) players in the world can AAA stuff on PAD on their first try. .. wow.. If he actually understood what a timing window was, and how home versions timing windows are twice as big as arcade windows, maybe he could figure it out.

Now, honestly I'm not trying to flame, this making a post trying to "apologize" by still saying "Its impossible on pad but not on controller", is still just as stupid as the last post.

I hope one day, you understand, how your theories make no sense whatsoever.

What the hell is wrong with you? You honestly think that they waste their time using the controller?

Cool it, guys.  Just because you have more experience with what hardcore players are capable of does not give you the right to be rude about it.  If you really want to discuss it then do so civilly.

It's time for dance.

Does anyone know the exact figure of the timing windows in home vs. arcade?  I know they are different, but I'm starting to think that the difference has been exaggerated just a bit.  The perfect window in arcade is about 30 ms.  For home, I've heard 50ms and I've heard "twice as big as the arcade".  I don't think either one is correct.  In stepmania, the default perfect window 45 ms.  and I'm pretty sure that's bigger than any home version I've ever played, because AAA's are much easier to get.

As to the OP, he just made a mistake, and apologized.  Relax, he never meant any offense.  You guys act like it's a crime to be new to DDR.

And DDRSuperStar, spend a couple hours watching youtube, and you'll never say anything's impossible again.

reeny: While I'm not 100% sure I believe the CS (home version) perfect window is between 40-45. The reason AAAs would be easier on keyboard as opposed to controllers is because of the polling rate of the hardware; the perfect windows on the PS2 games were increased to compensate for the fact that the PS2 doesn't check for input as frequently as the arcade pads do. Keyboards don't have this problem, so that is probably why it seems easier.

Ranatulus,  I don't use a keyboard.  I use the same pad (cobalt flux) for ps2 and stepmania.  Perhaps my laptop has a higher polling rate? Another possibility is maybe the addition of 'marvelous' timing forces you to focus more.
