Snapps started a thread about charts we would like to see re-done.  This thread is for the total opposite.  What song(s) do you really like because of the chart?  Try not to let the song itself influence your decision too much, just insofar as it relates to the chart.

Here are some of my favorites:

TEARS: I love the steps for this song and I play it all the time.  It has fun crossovers in the beginning that end in a well-placed hold.  The rhythm is varied throughout, it uses holds well, and it is not too easy or boring and not too hard at the same time.

Nori Nori Nori:  It is an easy chart but the way it moves your body is really fun to me.  I always end up putting in extra motion and really getting in to the song when I play this chart.  It is simple and fun.

What are your favorite charts and why?

It's time for dance.

Do It All Night - I'm a sucker for constant stream at low or mid tempos.

In The Heat of the Night - Same.

exotic ethnic - I enjoy swinging my arms around in an "exaggerated capoeira" style during the crossovers.

Tir na n'Og - The chart becomes surprisingly fun once you learn the slowdown.

exotic ethnic - Chart work's great for what's going on.

Healing Vision -Angelix Mix- - The patterns used and how it's presented within this song is really, really good for it's time, and still is now. I don't like the spins though in the beginning.

Paranoia Respect - Other than like, two specific parts that don't need to be in there (concerning gallops and poor spins), I really enjoy this chart.

Candy Oni - Great chart.

Snapps: Those aren't spins if you do them right in HVAM, look at them closer.

Recently:

DoLL oni - Flows beautifully with Afronova crossovers, jump-step freezes, and technical stream, while never having to ever doublestep anything, ever.

Chaos - Yeah, I said it. Kudos to Konami for trying something different. Four arrows can only be arranged in so many ways until it gets boring, and yes, it DOES go with the music.

Pluto heavy/oni - Overall well-done charts, although the two one-foot sections near the end of Pluto oni ruin the otherwise sublime flow of the chart.

Trip Machine PhoeniX heavy - I didn't care for the oni chart, too many triplets for what seemed to be the hell of it.

Instead of just taking your heavy chart and replacing single notes with triplets, do something different. This has been happening alot in your charts recently, don't be lazy.

Older:

Exotic Ethnic - Again, flow > all. Never make a chart like Daikenkai ever, EVER, again.

Paranoia Evolution - Great chart to a great song, period....speaking of which..

MAX.(period) - PLEEEEEEEASE put this in SN3, for god's sake.

I could go on and on with the older charts, but those three came to mind right away.

Perry - I remember someone at crossgates used to play Nori Nori Nori without moving, just shifting his weight. It's a good song.

Personally I really like the charts from Fly Away - mix del matador-, both singles and doubles. Flow (Jammin ragga mix) also has great steps.

Dance Dance Revolution has great singles steps, love the jumps. Sanna Morette Ne Ente has awesome doubles steps. I could go on forever, there's lots of good charts.

I agree with TGLMaxX on Chaos, Trip machine phoenix, and Max.(period). All are great songs with challenging and interesting steps.

Gahh, where do I begin...

From Universe:
Summer Fantasy - Lots of fun freezes.
Don't Play Nice - Amazing jumps, a catchy beat with steps to match, and fun crossovers. No double-steps, either.
What Have Her - Fun crossovers and gallops, including some behind-the-back gallops. Nice 16ths practice.
White Hot - Really fun 16ths, and rhythms that go with the song well.
Also the Universe oni steps really caught my eye, like Candy* and Hot Limit. Nightshade Standard is fun for freestyling, too. I'd go on about songs like Brightness Darkness, but I should move on to another game.

From Ultramixes:
Zero-One - Really fun and odd rhythms that keep you on your toes, like in xenon.
route 80s - Amazing for freestyle, and just as good on doubles.
Skulk (Konami Mix) - Catchy rhythms and 16th groups that aren't as common on the PS2 versions.

From Hottest Party:
1998 (Sparky 2006) - This chart is simply amazing. Gallops, alternating stream, those 16ths in the beginning... it's all very catchy.
Super Samurai - A 10-footer without double speed! There's decent 16th stream, gallops, tricky rhythm/footing without double-stepping, and lots of jumps for emphasis without getting ridiculous like FELMO. Keep it up Konami, just remember to give us Nintendo fans speed mods in the next game.

From arcade versions:
(I'm definitely going to have to add more to this later)
Hysteria 2001 - Really fun freezes. You hold L and step all the other three, then you hold R and step in the same pattern with your other foot! This was also my first AA.
Dynamite Rave Heavy - REALLY catchy steps, tricky rhythms, a ton of easy twisty stream and just the right amount of jumps. This chart is a winner in my book.
Super Star - Fun, fun steps with easy jumps going with the beat and crazy rolls at the end.
So Deep. Now there's a good 9.
FAXX Light doubles, MaxX Light doubles - these charts have amazing freeze arrows. The former pretty much encourages you to drop down and use hands all around you, haha.

Let's see...

Kakumei - Chopin's Revolutionary Etude has a wonderful grandeur, and the steps go with the music beautifully.  Every time I play at the arcade I play this, and I rock out.

Kick The Can - Based on Offenbach's "Can-Can," this is just a silly bucket of streaming fun. My first 7-footer AAA.

Freckles - Another fun streaming song.  A good warmup, and my most recent 7-footer AAA (last night, in fact).

In The Navy '99 - It's like bouncing on the bed.

Exotic Ethnic - I used to hate this song because it beat me up. Now I can AA it, and steps that once were unmanageable are now a fun challenge.

Let's Groove - This one gets a mention just for the stream when the word "down" is repeated at the beginning.  There's something about the way that turns me around on the right side of the pad that amuses me.

Candy - Sugar and caffiene set to music, and wacky steps that get my heart pumping.

Heaven is a '57 Metallic Gray - This song, and its steps, are just plain groovy.

Chaos - As stated earlier in this thread, its strength is its unique gimmick. It's a fun challenge, and helps me work on some of my weaknesses.

<strike>Bend Your Mind - Arrow-stomping meets break dancing. I love people's reactions when I dance this on Expert.</strike>

From SN2:

Angelus: The chart flows so well with the song, and is it pretty challenging 8, especially when it comes to timing.

Me Against the Music: Although the beginning is a little dry, by the time the song reaches the chorus, it becomes a very enjoyable chart.

L'amour et la liberté (Darwin & DJ Silver remix): A very fun chart, especially after the the stop. Makes good use of 16ths.

Pluto: The expert and the oni's chart go really well with the song, I love the 32nd stream in the oni chart.

Blind Justice ~Torn souls, Hurt Faiths~: GREAT chart, one of the best in recent years. It's a perfect translation from IIDX to DDR.

CaptivAte~誓い~: Probably one of the hardest Expert 8s. Chart follows the piano very well and the end is just amazing.

I recently went through Extreme and have become pretty familiar with all of the Single Heavy/Oni charts.  These are a few of my favourites:

Long Train Runnin':  I love how the steps actually go to the music.  This is one of the few charts that I like to play and not worry about what score I get on it.

Witch Doctor:  See above.

Fantasy (Melissa):  There are so many good bits in this song that could quite easily have been ignored.  This is definitely a great song and a great chart.

Paranoia Survivor Max Oni:  This chart will always be one of my favourites.  It's challenging (because of good steps, not because of gimmicks) and a lot of fun.

Xenon:  Just fun to play.

^^^^ All those. And I've got a few that I think only I would think of.

Get Up 'n Move - That's a fun stream!

Healing-D-Vision heavy singles - The slow part is unique, and the insanely fast part isn't too bad. On my best day I missed only 4 steps. I wish more 10s were like this.

Furuhata's Theme heavy doubles - Whhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Can't Stop the Rain - Probably more because I like the song. Come to think of it, the chart is obvious, but it's very good. I wouldn't want the chart makers to bee too creative, I guess. (Eternus also has a really obvious and really good chart.)

AgoraPerry, you did not specify they had to be DDR charts, so I present some of my favorite r21 and edits

(off the top of my head)

One More Lovely - I'm a sucker for 1092 steps of 800 BPM joy.... (came really close to passing this too)

Ub3r R4v3 - Fun stuff, easily scored on. Not to fast, not too slow

BemaniRulers V Edit - The crossovers are a pain, but it's better than the normal V charts...

Wham Bam Boogie Edit - This edit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRC4MNdYc_s (it's one of the best files I've ever played, a nice relaxing 10, maybe a 9, also, the song kicks ***)

Tribal Style [E] - No explanation needed here.

Charlene [E] - Again, it's just awesome, no explanation needed.

DDR Official sims....

Max. (period) [H] - It's like Drop Out on steriods

Xepher [O/C] - So fun, needs more stream though

Cartoon Heroes [H] - Just wow, you need to find the person that made that sim, and get him back. He obviously left because most sims now are ****.

MaxX Unlimited [H] - Really good use of holds in this song.

Max 300 Super Max Me Mix [O/C] - Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun.

>>Healing-D-Vision heavy singles - The slow part is unique, and the insanely fast part isn't too bad. On my best day I missed only 4 steps. I wish more 10s were like this.<< I sure hope you aren't talking about that off as **** 16th's when it should be 12th's song.....

Despite that I play alot, there are only a FEW that I love.

1. Cowgirl (Heavy). As a semi-chug girl (but same time half like a stick), playing any kind of 8-footer is a chore... But this one is a acception. Love the "horse-gallops". Fits the personality (of the song) well. :P

2. Look to the Sky (True Colors Mix) (Heavy). With freeze arrows like that, you can tell that it has a relaxing feeling. <3

 3. Tie between Love2 Sugar and White Lovers (Both heavy). Because I LOVE Pop'n Music, these are the two music I play. Love2 Sugar follows the lyrics in a light-ish way, and White Lovers... Is so different. Plus that I "move" around alot for such a "Winter Dance" song. XD

4. Un Deux Trois (Heavy). Easy. But almost same response as LttS (True Colors Mix). But funner, and even the pause. ("Do you believe in fantasy, give me some estacy". XD)

5. Freckles (Heavy). Re-introduced to SuperNOVA AC US, I realized how fun yet "tiring" this chart is. Nice for a work-out.

6. Dream a Dream (Heavy). Possibily the only song that is fun to play on a 5th Mix machine. (The machine works VERY NICELY.) Funny thing is that it's owned by a pizza restruant. (I think it's family-owned.)

7. Kick the Can + 1, 2, 3, 4, 007 (Variety level). Kick the Can is the king of the clasic lisence DDR songs that I see alot of hardcore players play. If I can get EX for the PS2 (US ver.) and a good pad, i'll be sure to play this classic again. Also, 1, 2, 3, 4, 007, is one of my FAVOIRTE NEWBIE songs for 4th mix. Back then when we want to focus on our timing, we hog the 4th Mix machine in Chinatown and play this song.

That should be it.

>>5. Freckles (Heavy). Re-introduced to SuperNOVA AC US, I realized how fun yet "tiring" this chart is.<< wat? It's 1:30 of 150 8ths. Try 2 minutes of 200bpm 16ths..... that's a bit more tiring I'd think. But I dunno, that's just me, and I'm only a crazy r21 player.

Yeah, actually I am. I'm not sure which part of the song should be 12ths, but the steps go well with the music. They're not beatmania steps.

Actually Cata, the song itself is written in swing time, and the steps should be 12ths to match up with it. It's part of why HDV is so aggravating to play.

Yes, Healing-D-Vision would honestly be a lot of fun if it were correct. I like the song, and want to love the steps, but they don't follow the song.

On a side note, I love the stepcharts for SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW and BYE BYE BABY BALLOON.

When I first got the Healing-D-Vision simfile, way back when it was new and before I had played it on pad, I laughed because I thought the person who had tried to copy the chart was an idiot and got it horrendously wrong.  I then played it on an official cabinet, and found out that was actually how it was meant to be.  Seriously, how did they get it so wrong?  It would have been great if the steps actually went to the music.

It's the equivalent of trying to step Burning Heat with 16ths.  Who thinks that sounds like a good idea?

If you have BPM gimmicks in Burning Heat i'm sure you can make everything 16ths and onsync, hahaha.
