Hello Dancers!

We've got an exciting new contest for you.

We want you to show us your inner DDR, design your own character for the new mobile DDR game! Have fun, be creative, and make a character for everyone to see and dance along with!

You can make a character in your likeness, a background, or go nuts and make an out-of-this-world dancer!

It’s your choice and the sky’s the limit. It's simple and free to enter, plus there are great prizes.

First Grand Prize (1): Your character featured in a future DanceDanceRevolution Mobile Video Game set to release this fall, plus you will receive a design trophy!

Second Grand Prizes (top 20 finalists): Your submission included in a special Winners Gallery, plus you will receive a limited edition DDR T-shirt!

BassHead

BassHead is one of the oldest players in the game. He has been dancing since all the arrows were the same colors. BassHead always had an interest in dancing, but never really showcased his talent, due to the fact that he was shy. When DDR took off and talent from all over started competing, he could not resist the competition. He decided to put a boom box on his head and go by the alias BassHead to conceal his identity. BassHead instantly became a fan favorite, as he breezed through the competition. To this day, BassHead continues to dance and teach all of the rookies a thing or two about DDR. He may be old school, but watch out because he can still dance with the best.

Spike 

Spike comes from a long time lineage of heroic fire dogs, but he has other dreams in mind. Spike felt that being a fire dog was boring and wanted to do something more interesting and exciting. Spike always loved to dance and had been watching DDR competitors ever since he was born. On his off time from fire dog training, he studies the current DDR greats and practices as much as possible. He wishes to become one of the greatest DDR dancers in the world. Even though his family has strong objections to his decision, he is willing to put it all on the line to have his name next to the greatest DDR competitors ever.

Flars Vultum

Flars Vultum, an alien being from the planet Funkton. Flars is a high school student that loves competition. Flars was an all-star at anything he tried. He grew tired of the fact that no one could challenge in anything he did, so he decided to find other avenues of competition. Once he learned of DDR and the many competitors, his interest was automatically sparked. Flars trained and practiced to become the best in the universe. On his home planet, Flars owned anyone who challenged him to a DDR competition. Now he travels the universe searching for someone that can give him a good challenge. 

Haha, I seriously hope those 3 characters will not be included in any game, ever.

i entered today! i like my chances.. want that top 20 so i can get the shirt. but the only thing I dont like is how am I suppose to know my character FOR SURE got sent in?

is there anyways after u send an entry in, you can email to participant to let him know its been received??

Hey, I have a question: would it be possible to collaborate and have two people team up to send in one entry? (lol, collaborate, iidxgold)

I would say that you and a friend could team up to make a character, destructo_bot, but only one can submit it and receive the prize.  There is no way for two poeple to jointly submit one entry.

I read the contest stuff but the one thing that sticks out to me is this: DDR Mobile????

Does this mean DDR for cell phones? That would rawk, because we didn't get DDR for gameboy in the US. 

Yep, Mobile refers to cell phones.  There is some info about DDR Mobile titles in our About The Games section.

ye hopefully this ddr mobile version will be compatible with my HTC phone this time...

Hey maxninja!! Yeah, it's me, finally signed up.

I wanted-- REALLY wanted-- to send something in with a friend of mine who draws really well, Tina. I guess I'll ask her about it... I guess I could send it in in her name, since she would draw it, as long as I get the T-shirt. She can get all the credit, as long as I get the T-shirt... That's all I ask! =^.^=

As soon as I saw this on zenius I started brainstorming ideas, and I think I've got a pretty good one ironed out. Now to get Tina to put her pencil to paper and make angels sing... >:)

 Another question (sorry if this was covered in the rules, I kinda only skimmed 'em): does it have to be in color? Do we win extra awesomesauce points if it IS in color? Be honest.

I have some issues with uploading my file.

 It's a .jpg file. And yet I keep getting errors.

 (Is it allright if I can submit here?) I am interested in joining the contest, but yet I got a feeling that I will not be able to get the game. ^^:

It is strange that a JPG wasn't working for you, Timer.  I'll check to see if there is a file size limit.  For anyone else who is having problems, feel free to post you entry here, or send me a PM with your entry.  You can PM me the required information (like your first and last name, and email) so you don't have to post it in the forums.

destructo_bot - Your entry does not have to be in color.  A panel of judges will choose winners based off of artistic skill and how well suited your character is for the game.  I bet a black and white picture could win.

Good evening, I just PMed my entry to you, Agora (I was getting the format error as well and converting my pictures to BMP sent the file sizes to around 6MB).  I really would like to know if the entry got to you, is there any way you could confirm?  Thank you.

Yep, I just received your entry.  Sorry you couldn't submit it through the form.  The file size limit is 4Mb.
