OK, I can clear lots of 10s, but strangely, I find Paranoia survivor much more difficult than most. I can get a pretty large combo throughout the first minute or so, but when the crossover-strewn death runs come in, I find it really difficult to keep my combo. Sure, I can clear it, but I want to get from the scores I'm getting so far on it (B, about 70-75%) to high As. I've practiced PS for a very long time as well...so I don't think that just playing it over and over again is the right way. Is there any way that I can crossover at high speeds efficiently? I want to challenge PSMO this year, but I need to get a high score on PSM first (actually, I think I need to clear it...)

LOL, Britain.

The only thing I can say is don't overcompensate for a crossover. Don't put a lot of force into turning your body; often, you'll turn too much and this will waste time and energy when you have to turn the other way. Try to complete the crossover while turning your body as little as possible.

It seems to me most people tend to overdo crossovers and put more spin in them than is necessary.

You should practice the songs with crossovers that are at lower speeds (exotic ethnic comes to mind), because it's the same technique, just faster.

Also as Arctic said, don't turn your body. Practice doing crossovers during every song you play, but keep your body facing the screen, no matter what song/bpm/etc. If you try and physically turn during Paranoia Survivor you're asking for pain.

Besides, when starting out you should use the bar, and that requires you to remain pretty much facing forwards as well. Eventually, when you do it without the bar, the less you turn your body the easier it will be.  Just keep practicing. Slowing down the song will help too, so you can teach your muscles how to do it correctly while keeping the combo, y'know? Muscle memory and all that jazz. =]

I don't know if you play flat-footed or not, but I do.  The only times I go on my toes are for things like this.  I've found that it helps.

It's time for dance.

Yeah, flat-footing makes quick movements much more difficult. Everyone else has pretty much covered the rest (practice songs with slower crossovers, play them more frequently, etc).

I double step stuff like this. I used to turn left for songs like Afronova, but now I double step more often than not. It used to be true that crossovers saved energy. But now it seems like double stepping takes less energy.

Crossover = left foot, right foot, left foot crosses over the center of the pad to the other side.

Double Stepping = left foot, left foot somewhere else, right foot

When I've got a good caffeeeeeeeeeeene buzz on I can go fast enough to doublestep mythology & monolith & stuff like that, PSMO makes me sad though. You could always 'mad matt' it and just wiggle on the corners.

"As for other Bemani news as it relates to the states, there is nothing to report."
