Someone called me "***" at the arcade. Maybe it's because I was using Yuni?

Never have been called *** playing DDR.

But people who call people *** for playing DDR are stupid, so theres no point in caring.

I have edited this thread.  I know neither of you are intending to be offensive, but we do not want to have terms for sexual orientation used pejoratively on the forums, even when you are referencing or quoting someone else.

I think it is ridiculous that anyone would insult someone else for playing DDR.  The game is fun, it has good music, it is healthy, it is a social game... I could go on and on about why DDR is fun.  Honestly people are just being ignorant when they dismiss the game like that.  Just ignore them.

I may have been teased once while playing in the arcade, but I've been complimented and cheered/clapped for many more times.

People are generally nice.  It is a shame there are some people who like to be rude for no reason.

yah it seems it is worse in more "foot traffic" places like the mall or a theme park arcade in stead of lyk a bowling alley arcade or specific arcade.

Meh, I used to get that. But after I taught my girlfriend to play I get it a lot less often, especialy when she beats you by a Perfect on MaxX Unlimited. :( :P

It's weird that people say such ignorant things... I think they are just jealous that you got all the moves!!!

Ugh, I've been hit on by other men while playing too.... it's a very awkward situation....

I actually just stop what i'm doing and stare at people who call names or make fun in any sort of way.

They don't assume I hear them most of the time so it's really funny when I stop completely and turn around with a glare. 

I'd do that if it didn't cost me a dollar to do so :P

If you play in an area with a lot of people you're bound to get an idiot every once in a while. There's so many of them it's hard to avoid, y'know?

Then again I've gathered crowds of 20+ people playing DDR before, so that kinda makes up for. Sometimes nice people will strike up a conversation with me, like "Oh, you're so good, how long have you been playing? Do you play often? etc etc", so they're not all bad.

 In short, don't let stupid people get to you. They're probably just jealous. Hah.

I've been insulted by DDR players when playing Pump it Up and insulted by other people while playing DDR... on another note I've seen Pump it Up players insult DDR players... so yeah.. it's not like the music game community is filled with people who aren't like that anyway. Best thing to do is ignore the ignorance and stupidity and keep playing.

Meh, most people that insult people playing DDR generally suck.  I say they're just jealous :P

limewirelord: true true...luckily i've NEVER been insulted when playing IN THE ARCADES...as for when i was playing in school...yea i have had one of those kids that insult me once in a while...i just seriously wish THEY tried it and see what happens but eh, i let it be...for now ¬_¬

if u were insulted by other DDR player u can at least challenge'em on a duel , lol

i'd been called little monkey while i was playing Drop Out maniac mode on double like 5 years ago by some non-player girl.I didn't mind it though , it's not like they say it straight in my face.

Bump no? When i was in school i was known as that DDR kid i didnt care, it was actually cool. But considering the song list and my tendency to play BeForU songs i can see why some one would call a player ***.

DDR is often called gay because the word "dance" is in the title and anything with the word "dance" is automatically gay. Around where I live it's mainly dumb skater kids who call the game gay.
