That song list is missing the 5 licenses mentioned on the box art and 2 Big Idea songs that were in pre-release screenshots. The licenses are in Gosha's post in the Uni3 discussion thread. The 2 Big Idea songs are Calypso Dance and Com Voce, and can be found in this screenshot, along with A Dream:

EDIT: Looking at the picture, Calypso Dance's background has the title "Dance Til The Night Is Over" on it. Com Voce is probably Jewelyn of De'Nile.

Hate. The game that was supposed to celebrate the 10th anniversary should not bring in new artists to replace former ones, operate as slowly as if it was the first beta version, and as a whole almost completely ignore the ten years that built up to it. Also, the song list is very easily disposable.

I've seen at least three people say that playing on a PS3 completely threw off the timing.

Horatio on Challenge is completely retarded. Who came up with that chart?

I absolutely despise how Konami used shock arrows. They just copied other charts and added them in wherever they felt like it.

Also, it appears that I read the screenshot from the Japanese site correctly. I thought it was Boys, and what do you know, it's in there.

So many things wrong with this thread:

The full songlist hasn't even been revealed.

All of the information on the CS release can be found on this site.

Wall of text.

Declaring that DDR X has "failed" you before the game even comes out.

I said 5. I was specifically referring to songs where the heavy chart is a 10 (15 or higher on DDR X's scale). You really don't need more than that.

In my opinion Hottest party 1 needed harder songs. because i was looking to get better at the game but i couldn't really because there weren't any really hard songs

Really? There were just about as many 9s in it as there were in SN2 CS and Universe 2. In fact, you could say that the overall difficulty of HP1 was higher than the other DDR games because it had the same amount of 9s, but a smaller song list.

Probably Dead End GRS. If that's not a 20 I don't want to know what kind of monstrosity is.

DEGRS is an 18. The ratings for FELMO, PRO, and FAXXO are still unknown.

I think 20 is a silly number. I'd've preferred if they were going to rerate it that they either use the itg system (since people have -always- talked about 'easy 8' or 'hard 7' or whatever), or the gfdm system where it rates out of 100(99).

100 would be too specific IMO. It would make re-rating the old songs a living nightmare.

I also would rather have the scale go from 1 to 13, but it would make a lot of people whine that it's too similar to ITG. Of course, people are still whining about the 1-20 scale being too similar to ITG, so it's not like it would change anything.

There won't be any way to easily "convert" this without a lot of people playing a lot of songs to try to figure out how Konami's defining things

All you would need to do is look at the new ratings for a few old songs and compare them to the old ratings. How difficult would that be?

I didn't even know GF was ported over here.

Ever heard of Rock Revolution?

I was assuming the drums were the reason myself but I guess it's the game as a whole? Did the liscencing of the plastic guitar not get revised for Rock Band for Harmonix when Guitar Hero went to ActiBlizzard/Neversoft or something?

The licensing was probably carried out by RedOctane, for obvious reasons. When the split occurred, Activision kept the licensing, but apparently Harmonix did not do the same.

Edit: I cannot put into words how disappointed I am so far. The addition of Shock Arrows (mines) is nothing I want and nothing that adds to the game.

The cabinet is so striking in similarity to In the Groove cabinets that I am forced to think it's intentional, and, again, it is not something I (and, although I hate putting it this way, the real fans) want.

I am hoping with everything I have that this is comparable to the Pump it U: Pro series. I know that it is not.

After everything that has happened and after all this time, I think this is going to be what kills DDR.

Ranatalus, this is probably your worst post on these forums to date.

Cabinet upgrades have occurred in the past for several other rhythm games. Other rhythm games have naturally gotten harder over time. New features added to other rhythm games usually don't do much to them. Why is the sole fact that the new features in DDR X remind you of ITG a good enough reason for you to almost completely reject this game before anyone on this board even gets a chance to play it?

I am hoping with everything I have that this is comparable to the Pump it U: Pro series. I know that it is not.

You don't know anything about this game other than a list of new features and a picture. How does that give you enough information to say "I know this game won't be better than PIU Pro"?

Just a few things:

1. Actual downloadable songs. Not a small text file that unlocks songs that were already in the game's disc. It was done in the Ultramix series, and it is being done for countless other games, including Rock Band and Guitar Hero, so why not for Universe?

2. More oni charts. It seemed wierd that Universe 2 only had 2 oni charts compared to Universe's ~8. It was also wierd that the last unlock (Unborn) was an 8 that could've been a 10, Reggaemaster was only a 5, and Melody & Mezzo said that I Wanna Be Your Star was supposed to have an oni chart.

3. More Konami originals. Universe 2 had a huge lack of them compared to Universe. However, Your Angel seems to suggest that there will be more KO's. This also includes more crossovers from other Bemani games.

The timing for most songs in DDR are so hit-or-miss that marvelous should be optional on home versions, since it's ridiculously tight. I assume that most people know that the timing windows in DDR are tighter than ITG's.

I agree with Shadowcol on everything else.

Keep SN2's general unlock method. That is, having a single player mode in which to unlock songs as well as being able to unlock songs in regular play.

As for what the single player mode should be, it should be very similar to Extreme 2's Dance Master Mode. Supernova's Stellar Master Mode was too complicated and long, while SN2's Hyper Mission Mode was a bit too straightforward. The mods and requirements for the missions in SN2 weren't nearly as ridiculous as those in SN1, so they should be kept at around that level. Even though I do not like the gimmicky challenges, I feel that they are necessary to keep it from being ridiculously easy.

Also, there should be more than one difficulty level in the single-player mode. Progressing from ridiculously easy to really hard is kinda annoying to me, especially since SN2's HMM stays at a level that isn't anywhere near a challenge to me (or many of the people here) for half of it. Perhaps a mode could be unlocked after beating the Extra Stage or AAAing a song on Heavy where all of the songs are either on Heavy or have harder extra charts, most of the requirements involve scoring really high, and features, songs, and/or charts otherwise unavailable are unlocked through it. Or you could use Arctic's idea.

The arguments do nothing to detract from the thread. They're fine; they are expressions of our views. I think your post is an overreaction.

An admin said that the amount of posts that are being made should be reduced to make everyone's opinions "much more visible and easier to take in", and said that your current arguments are "getting somewhat out-of-hand." I get that my post was wrong: the arguments are not detracting from this thread. Instead, they are cluttering it up excessively, and are leading this thread off-topic, at least in the admin's opinion. In fact, this argument is also leading this topic a bit astray, so please do not respond to it.

Could you people just give up on your arguments. Only three people on this page have actually posted their opinions, which is what Konami wanted everyone to do. Everyone else has just been arguing. Arch, Darkmage, LHoT, and all you other arguing ****heads should move your arguments elsewhere, because that isn't the purpose of this thread. The purpose of this thread is for Konami to gather opinions, not to serve as a place for Arch to make yet another attempt to intellectually checkmate everyone who has even a slightly different opinion than him.
