Last I checked, any cmod dq'd your score on any song, unless you've done something -really- weird to the metrics. Anyway, I don't think making it just the same as ITG is that great an idea either.

And with that, your credibility just went negative.  They only disqualify if the song has a speed change or a stop (if we are talking ITG - if we are talking SM, they don't disqualify at all by default).  Also, no matter how opposed you are to ITG, you have to admit that they had a lot of good ideas.

Did you read my other post?  They are for learning the speed changes.  If people want to play everything like that, fine.  That's their choice.  I really don't like the "I don't like it so you shouldn't be able to have it" attitude that seems to come from a lot of people on these boards.

Again, with using two sides, ITG had it right.  If one side uses a disqualifying mod, the other side's graph goes white (or something like that, I don't remember) so that people can't take a picture of half the screen and claim that their score is 'legit'.

It allows people to learn how a song is meant to go before they have to play it with those speed changes in there (some are easy to work out, some are outright pointless and are just designed to annoy players).  To the person saying they are just "training wheels", why can't Expert players have them too?  It's not like we develop some psychic ability that allows us to predict what the chart is going to do next.

I don't think Dead End GRS should exist at all.   If this is the current trend for difficult songs, I really don't want to see what a 20 looks like to Konami.

Seriously, ITG had it right.  For those of you who don't know how they work, they make the arrows scroll at some constant speed, and disqualify the score if there are any stops/BPM changes in the song.  It would make it a lot easier to learn how the BPM gimmicks go, and for songs without changes, they let players pick a comfortable, familiar speed.

Personally, I would also like to see 1.25x for those songs that scroll at 400BPM, because with only 1 and 1.5 to choose from, I'm left with a 200BPM gap in scrolling speed, which is quite annoying, especially when I would prefer to read these songs at ~500BPM.

I would also like to ask that you please fix the Note skin.  Fill the stupid thing in.  As it is currently, the arrows are pretty much transparent, and I find it straining to read.  Although I would prefer to use the colours of Note, I almost always go for Rainbow, because at least I can see those arrows.

I have already said that the arcade I play in does not have a new Betson cabinet.  What we are concerned about is the quality of future DDR cabinets, and that most definitely can be changed.

The car analogy doesn't quite fit here, because we want SN2, and we want the cab to work.  Sure, we can just get an upgrade, but somebody should supply NEW CABINETS that are actually good.

I shouldn't have to give them an alternative.  Finding an alternative is their job.  I'm just saying that the current arrangement is not working in anyone's favour except Betson's, because they get to charge full price for a job half done.

I'm not complaining about the pads at my arcade.  We have an upgrade.  I know the guy who does all the work on the machine, and he listens to the players.  I've played on a new cabinet, and it's nowhere near as good as the machines are after he's finished with them.  This doesn't really make any sense - shouldn't they already come working at peak performance?

For the last time, I KNOW BETSON DON'T HAVE CONTROL ONCE IT'S IN THE ARCADE.  THE PROBLEM WE HAVE IS THE QUALITY OF THE BRAND NEW MACHINES.

When you say "people that played ITG", it implies that ITG makes them want harder charts.  To me, people played ITG because they wanted harder charts and DDR didn't offer them.  I just want to clear up what is cause and what is effect here.

WE WANT THEM TO MAKE THEM PROPERLY SO THEY ACTUALLY WORK ONCE THEY ARE IN THE ARCADES.  I honestly didn't think it was a difficult concept to grasp.

What is the point of your arguments?  It's not up to us, the END USERS, to worry about what is causing the problem.  We just want it fixed.
