Meh... it's not all bad.  At least I get to play Extreme2 and SuperNova2.

Hmmm.  The store did not have the standalone version of X, and said it could not be ordered.  I'll check elsewhere then; or order via Amazon.  Reasonably priced, too!

I agree.  I just picked up SuperNova 2 for 14.00 instead of X or HP2 simply because it was a standalone copy.  Well, that and because it was heavily discounted.  If HP2 or X would have been around the 40.00 range without a pad, I would of bought either one instead.  For now, I hold off on X until it is standalone.

I almost picked it up yesterday, but instead I found a copy of SuperNova2 for 14.00 and SSBB for 28.00, so I picked them up instead.  I've been playing Extreme2 and now SuperNova2 on my new PS2 I bought for online DDR X (what an idiot I am).  I'll pick up HP2 next time.

Concerning PS2 mats with the Wii... I purchased the Cube JoyBox from Play-Asia to see how well it worked with an Ignition 3.0 and the Wii.  It works just as advertised.  I can detect no perceivable delay (and yes, I do have marvelous timing turned on).  It works in standard mode (square = "Cancel", X = "OK"), or you can put it in DDR mode ( X = "Cancel" and O = "OK" ).  I'm very happy with its preformance.  I'm still planning on building metal pads this winter when I'm spending a little more time indoors, but in the meantime, the Ignitions work well with that adapter.  Can't wait for HP2 and X!

Too bad the audio is barely audible.

I did pick up a PS2 w/ Extreme2.  Loving it.  I'm going to pick up MAX2, SN2, and X.  Looks like I'll be buying HP2 as well.  I'm going to be one tired boy by the end of the year, LOL.

I really like playing through the missions, that's why I wanted the console versions.  Well, that and the guilt factor.  I feel a lot better now that I have actually purchased the music/stepcharts I love so much.  Let me tell you, the C-missions on EX2 really threw me.  So many weird objectives/mods that you just wouldn't see in StepMania!

Well, I was interested because I just picked up a PS2 with EX2.  I found a AC machine nearby that was MAX2.  I thought if the CS version was the same, I could learn the notes at home and play somewhat decent at the AC.  But, when I actually played on the machine, it wasn't really MAX2 as labeled, but rather SuperNova.

So I guess it's a moot point now, anyway.

Does MAX2 for the PS2 have the same songs/charts as 7thMix MAX2 AC?

Is there/are there going to be any pre-order promos with any of the upcoming CS releases?  Have there been any promos in the past?

It's a hands marker meter.  If you watch the trailer, you can see it increase as hand markers are struck.

That trailer just got me re-interested in this game after i'd almost given up on HP2.  Hopefully we'll get a complete song list soon.

I really like the arrow size modifier gimmick... that's awesome.

Yah moose.  I already have ITG(2) for the PC and StepMania with a bunch of simfiles of... well, let's just say they may be of a questionable nature.  However, my PC is in my office and doesn't have the room for doubles (I play a lot with my son).  The console would be hooked up to the 42" with a set of Ignitions and eventually a set of homebuilts if I ever find some free time.

I'll be picking up the PS2 this week, so I can enjoy all the past releases, plus X this winter.  Online looks to be hit or miss with either PS2 or the 360 so it's a moot point, really.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts.  Oh, and sorry about "either".  Jeezuz, that was a bad post.

I'm fed up with DDR on the Wii, and I don't think HP2 is going to be bringing anything good to the table.  I don't want Mii's faces on my dancers, and I don't want to flail my arms about, either.  I also want to play online, and it doesn't look like HP2 is bringing anything in that area, either.  Red Octane isn't releasing quality pads for the Wii either, and I want hard arcade-style quality pads.  Although the HP/Wii introduced me to DDR, it's not fullfilling my need for a quality experience after only 6 months.

So, I need another console.  I'll only be playing DDR, so I am not concerned about other games.  Right now, I'm pretty much sold on a PS2.  I can grab a new one for 109 locally, and can pick up most of the DDR releases in the $10-20 range.  The 360 is another more expensive option.  I can probably get away with an arcade version, but I see the only real added benefit is a better online experience?

So... go ahead sell me on your DDR system of choice.

Generally, I like the characters combined with animated dancing stages.  But the characters in Hottest Party... puh-lease... fix them.  I only like 'em if they are visually appealing; looking at the mess presented (especially Domi, Danca, & Gaku) in that game can be distracting!

Yah... Hottest party incorporated a few ITG style modifiers or "gimmicks" ... arrow confusers, mines (foot destructors), etc. and it looks like now they are going into AC.

As long as you can turn them on and off, I don't have a problem.  I think by default they should be off.  It does seem to help with the longevity of the game.  After you've mastered expert, it's fun to go back through and play with the gimmicks turned on.
