Stamina. 900 steps in 160 seconds.

That's not very many. In 120 seconds, Hardcore of The North has 898 taps, 81 jumps, and 31 holds.

An ITG 13 is only a 17/18 on the <strike>PIU</strike> DDR scale.

Ha ha ha, are you joking? FELMO is an 11 max. It's a lot easier than say Hardcore Symphony, it's just stupid, and doesn't make sense.

I see an DDRX 20 being something truly over the top though. Not even to be taken seriously, because the Japanese step team is stupid like that.

If somehow they make a good chart. It would probably be equal to Hardcore of The North, I can see that being the very top for a 20.

Ugh, you guys say stamina, but you don't play any stamina songs. Pluto Relinquished has fast runs, yes, but they are not as draining as the Delirium run. Or nearly as draining as Euphorias Trillis (560 BPM 8th notes, or nearly twice as fast as Max 300).

I got into DDR last year. My friend gave me his XBox, Mat, and DDR Ultramix 1, and I checked when my first save file was. Ironically, November 20th! I was hooked right away. I became an instant stamina *****. I went to play at an arcade and within a week of the first time I stepped on my flimsy plastic mat. I was able to pass Max 300 [H] at the arcade. But about a week later, PSMO got a bit boring... and there was "that other dancing game" that I hadn't tried. ITG, I tried it, thinking it was just a knock off, and loved it! It took a LOT to build up more stamina, but by June 20th, I had passed Summer Speedy Mix and Vertex^2 (I can't pass Pandemonium for some reason), then proceeded onto harder songs (The Cosmic Pope's charts). Got bored, now I play PIU almost exclusively. In fact, I own my own PIU cabinet (well, getting.... >_>)! But I feel that DDR X is a step in the right direction compared to SuperNOVA and SuperNOVA2. Now, I do not want it to turn into "let's add nothing but stream". One of my focuses now are Doubles in ITG, and NM in Pump. They add for a LOT of extra stratagey. I feel that "Renaissance" Expert Doubles in ITG2 is one of the best charts I've ever played. Ever. And Pump is just awesome with songs like Canon D, how can you go wrong? I love all 'dancing' games now, and wish the best to them all.

Holy ****! 18k?!?!?! I wonder if Konami realizes that a new NX2 FX is 9k, and new NX2 SXv2 is 7k, and a new Pro FX is 10k. What the hell? Also, are these being manufactured in Buffalo Grove again?

My comment on the new info that's been revealed.

Konami, thank you for the much improved difficulty grading, it is much more accurate, and the re-rating of songs will clear up many arguments. Again, I just want to say thank you for Pump It Up difficulty ratings. ;)

Gone in a flash. I'll be back when huge info is revealed/location test (if it's anywhere near last years of course.)

One final post, because of the over whelming relevence to this thread.

On friday, when I was at the arcade, the down arrow broke on the left pad (it was a pink arrow), so my manager (the arcade tech) orders a new arrow. They called us today saying we could pick it up (we're fifteen minutes away from their IL location) So we get going over there. We go, and pick it up. Do you know what they hand us (after ordering the part number for a Pink DDR Arrow) they hand us a clear tile. We're like... "Uhhh.... we wanted a pink one, you know, part number [whatever it is, I didn't order it]." "We're out of Pink Arrows, sorry" "Whatever..." We go back to the arcade to install the arrow. Guess what happened. It didn't fit in the machine. It was a larger than the hole by about half an inch. So we grind down the sides, and it STILL DOESN'T FIT. The 'arrow' they gave us was signifigantly taller, to the point where when we tried to put the brackets on, they rested on the side of the arrow, and we couldn't screw it in (well, not without making all the sensors be depressed at least). So we have to grind it down even more. What should have been, quite litterally a one minute installation ended up being a  45 minute process, 20 if you remove the trip to Home Depot to rent a power sander.

Just my personal experiance. (this message will make it's way to other boards)

Oh, and just by the way, I just installed some new panels (all ten), on my Pump machine. I said four reds (two left and two right), two yellows, and four blues (two left, and two right). They sent me everything I needed in less than a week. They fit, it was a painless install, no grinding, no sensor presses from the new ones.

Also note: I did not order my arrows myself, I had my brother do it because I am not 18 yet. So I don't know the part numbers for them off hand.

Well, I told you guys I'd be back for the sole purpose of giving my opinions on this new AC...

Firt opinions, just by the pic piepiepie posted....

Ugh. That cabinet is HIDEOUS. First off... as someone who own a machine. The footprint of that is MASSIVE. And what's with the lights? The vast majority of technical players prefer less lights, it's also more bells and whistles that the arcade op needs to take care of.

As a player.... Too many lights, distracting, takes away from the game. Love the widescreen, and flatness. WHERE DID MY SIDES GO? I PUT MY STUFF THERE! (Note, I see the cut away in the front, but that's not going to hold my back pack with Windex to clean the top of the pads with, or my other shoes. Seriously, it's worse than the ITG2 sides, which didn't hold much either.) Are those VERTICAL buttons? Are you changing my UI? And what's with that big circular center button?

Also, it looks like the ******* child of an IIDX cab.

Ranatalus: How does that look ANYTHING like an ITG2 cabinet? Have you ever even seen one? http://www.positivegaming.com/img/ITG2_dedicab.jpg

Looks NOTHING like that POS, and the ITG2 cab isn't the prettiest thing either.

EDIT: Goodbye everyone, I'll definetly check this out when it gets released, apart from the cab looking like crap, if the game is good, I'll start playing again. Have fun, I'll be having fun doing Bemera on my PIU cab. ciao!

>>"waaah waaah sn2 was riuned cuz of degrs evn tho i dun gotta paly it i mean andamiro nevr did aynting leik taht cuz RAW duznt exist rite??????"<<

RAW NM does exist, so does Bee Another NM, but the thing is, those are blatant jokes. DEGRS was Konami's attempt at being hard in a good way, the only thing is, it sucked! Not to mention it's the ONLY chart for that song, Bee has more charts than just it's Another NM.

EDIT::: I'm well aware that I don't have to play DEGRS, but it's kind of sad that they can't make a good file to a good song. Not to mention every other 'hard' song is too easy, and I've been looking for a harder challenge.

>> While it took KONAMI five canon games to get the interface right, at least they've done it. Andamiro still struggles making an interface that is intuitive and overall not a nightmare to navigate.<< Let me guess, you don't like Rock Band for the Wii either because it takes out charecter customization, right? I mean, it still has the same gameplay, and it's good.

Besides that, the interface isn't terrible. It's rather straight forward actually, the only thing is that all mods have to be put in through the pad. But then there is Pro! Which I do plan on upgrading too, even though it's very expensive (I'd need the MK6 board too. >_>)... BUT HEY! It's less than an upgrade from SN1 to SN2! And that's buying an ENTIRELY NEW PCB.

>>They're not perfect, and there are many aspects of core DDR I enjoy better (Vivid arrows, hell, any meaningful arrow colouring as opposed to beatmaniaIIDX style flat). I do, however, applaud Andamiro for taking the game off in wild and crazy directions, trying new things with long versions, remix stations, insane difficulty, and absolutely amazing videos. Some were good, some were bad, but innovation is nice.<<

Well, I do agree that the flat coloring will took a little while to get used to, it's not terrible.... Also, everthing you listed htat they've done good. That what the players are asking Konami for.

 >>Also, the K-Pop channel is the best thing ever. KONAMI, we really need more Korean Dance Music. PIU was worth buying for home console almost entirely because of the K-Pop channel.<<

Meh, forgien music. I don't care too much for it, but I do love the classical BanYa stuff though. :) Also Canon-D (is a ***** on NM) is pretty awesome.

Moose: I have taken apart one of my extra PIU sensors, they didn't use that 'conductive plastic' like material (I'm not sure what it's called). They flexed easier, and PIU has more surface area being pressed down on the sensors. The combination of all of these mean better sensitivity.

As for an FX cabinet, I dunno... The GX (see ITG2 dedicab) is a really good design, the Plasma screens lag... But give me an FX with CRT and I'd be all over it.

See, my problem is. It's taking Konami untill now to 'get it' but Andamiro has had it for years! Not to mention that PIU came out LATER than DDR. Konami has had their head up their *** for a bit too long, now, granted, I'm not the oldest member in the community (Nov. 07, ironically, I started playing on Nov. 19 (Xbox game save logs. :P)) But based on everything I've read, heard, etc. And by my own observations.

First off, Supernova was a **** release that LOWERED the standards of dancing games. Only 50 new songs (not to mention the US didn't get all of them), they lowered the bar of difficulty, bad hardware, crappy (old) cabinet design, horrible sensors, etc. I could go on for a long while, but...

EDIT: Don't get me started on SN2... and DEGRS...

I'm not upset, I'm saying it looks unatractive to outsiders.

Yes, Pump it up does lack home versions, but it has a very consistant Arcade release schedule. With no four year gaps.

BTW, piepiepie, from my perspective, you have been one of the most contructive members in this tiny community, even though I don't always agree with your viewpoints. Have fun.

This can be put into many different areas, but I'll put it here because it can spur some very constructive chat about DDR and where it's headed.

Well, I'll start off blunt. I'm leaving the four panel community in it's entirety, yeah sure I'll still hang with Rynker, but that's cause he lives down the street from me. >_> I am leaving four panels for five. Yes, Pump It Up. I find it more attractive due to official songs that are of absurd difficulty right off the bat, namely any song that ends in *era.

Also, the company is very active with distributing their product, very much unlike Betson. They never gave up on the product and let an unrelated comapany remind them that there are still people that play it (even though ITG was a better product in the first place).

NOW! The reasons that I am leaving.

First off the lack of difficulty. DDR is simply too easy, when you ignore the stupid gimmicks (i.e. FELMO, Pluto, etc) Even NGO is pretty **** easy. Now, others bring up the argument that not everyone can do higher end songs, therefore they shouldnbt be in it. Now, there are people that can't even keep the lifebar up on a 1, does that mean we should remove everything over 1 foot? Did that ever stop Pump? Do you think that everyone that plays Pump can pass Bemera CZ or Chimera NM? No, but they still have it anyways.

People in this community... I'll be blunt, a good 90% of the bemani community are nothing but ***holes, trolls (I'm sorry, but moose, I'm calling you out now, STOP BEING A **** TROLL AND ****ING EVERYONE HERE OFF), and toppers (yes, I admit to being a bit of a 'topper' but meh).

COST, not of home versions, but of the AC machines (I'll touch quality later). A DDR Extreme still costs about 5k, SuperNOVA is about 7k, and SuperNOVA2 is an excess of 10k. Where as a NEW PUMP NX2/PRO in FX cabinet is 9k, a used SD cabinet (DDR Style) is about 2k, a GX cabinet (ITG Style) is about 4.5k (but I was lucky enough to pick one up (i.e. it's in my garage now) for only 3k).  (This applies to many high end players that wish to own their own machine) (I actually don't know how much DX's cost. :-/)

QUALITY, Betson is a pile of ****. They use horrible parts, tiny *** screens, not to mention the very outdated design. Get with the times, bigger screen, fail that, make it FLAT at the very least, also, streamline the cabinet.

This message is not meant to invoke rage, or to annoy people, it's my sincere last words in this community (other than responces in this thread).

Thank you, have a wonderful day.

>>Um, itg2 wasn't 800x600 at 100hz. Not even close.<< Uhhh... actually it was. Me and Rynker maintain the Dedicab at a brunswick zone, and when we mess with the machine, we see everything. Also, you say you own these machines, but have failed to provide proof of the ITG machine.

EDIT: I talked to Rynker, he actually hacked it to that. The defaults are 640x480 @ 60Hz. RoXoR (we have a RoXoR cab) used standard PC hardware for EVERYTHING, you could plug headphones into the speaker port to have them work. The monitors are multisync. :P

Yeah, plasmas do lag a lot though. I would say a nice wide CRT, with a nice high refresh rate, and a nice high resolution.

>>I have NEVER said that the end user, the customer, the PLAYER, should have to be responsible for the condition of the games or the maintenance thereof.<< Wow... 90% of arcades won't let anyone touch the machine, they don't care as long as it makes them money. Hell, even my arcade won't let me touch the machine, and I do the ****ing book-keeping for the entire arcade (all 60 redemption games, and 50 video).

In most cases, it's not that they don't know how to fix it, it's that they don't CARE about the state of the machine, as long as it makes them money.

Oh Moose.... Nice 'wingman' there to try to make you look better. When I left before, I was sure that you couldn't get any lower, but you just threw me a shovel.

>>5. Freckles (Heavy). Re-introduced to SuperNOVA AC US, I realized how fun yet "tiring" this chart is.<< wat? It's 1:30 of 150 8ths. Try 2 minutes of 200bpm 16ths..... that's a bit more tiring I'd think. But I dunno, that's just me, and I'm only a crazy r21 player.

AgoraPerry, you did not specify they had to be DDR charts, so I present some of my favorite r21 and edits

(off the top of my head)

One More Lovely - I'm a sucker for 1092 steps of 800 BPM joy.... (came really close to passing this too)

Ub3r R4v3 - Fun stuff, easily scored on. Not to fast, not too slow

BemaniRulers V Edit - The crossovers are a pain, but it's better than the normal V charts...

Wham Bam Boogie Edit - This edit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRC4MNdYc_s (it's one of the best files I've ever played, a nice relaxing 10, maybe a 9, also, the song kicks ***)

Tribal Style [E] - No explanation needed here.

Charlene [E] - Again, it's just awesome, no explanation needed.

DDR Official sims....

Max. (period) [H] - It's like Drop Out on steriods

Xepher [O/C] - So fun, needs more stream though

Cartoon Heroes [H] - Just wow, you need to find the person that made that sim, and get him back. He obviously left because most sims now are ****.

MaxX Unlimited [H] - Really good use of holds in this song.

Max 300 Super Max Me Mix [O/C] - Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun.

>>Healing-D-Vision heavy singles - The slow part is unique, and the insanely fast part isn't too bad. On my best day I missed only 4 steps. I wish more 10s were like this.<< I sure hope you aren't talking about that off as **** 16th's when it should be 12th's song.....
