Topic: Please recommend game pad
I purchased from DDRgame and had a great experience. I got the Energy Metal not cheap but it works without issue on my Xbox, PS2 and Wii (both HP and HP2 shockingly)... The pad takes a pounding and so far is holding up really well, easy to take the arrows off for maintenance like removing bits of carpet and dog hair ... very happy.

Doh...
Topic: DDR Artists - Party Around the World - SMiLE.dk
Got my CD from Amazon and love it, Doki Doki is particularly good. Japanese Boy seems familiar, I think it is a cover from the UK.
Thanks for the tip on Hardcore Addiction, I love Darwin's tracks...
I didn't know about Captain Jack crossing over, very sad. From what I understand the new Captain Jack is his son.

Just pre-ordered 'Party Around the World' from SMiLE.dk (Butterfly) can't wait to play it with 'in the groove'... bubblegum heaven...
Captain Jack also has a new a CD too, Turkish Bizarre, anyone else have any DDR artist favourites or recommendations?

Topic: XBOX 360 Arcade version
You guys ROCK!
Thanks for clarifying, no-one at EB Games knew for sure. The 360 would be good for Street Fighter IV too, which looks awesome...
Appreciate it!

Topic: Once and for all, vote to see what the majority thinks about DDR X
Good...
Thought overall it was put together well. I like the new X series identity, other series have been great too, I hope we see another PS2 release from Konami.

Topic: XBOX 360 Arcade version
On a budget here and the price drop makes the Xbox 360 tempting... but...
Does anyone know if I need a hard drive to save Universe progess? I saw some memory cards and thought that might do the trick, but no-one at EB games has tried it. In a similar manner, would I need a HD for DLC and is it still available for the games?
Any advice much appreciated...

Topic: Considering to purchase Hottest Party 2
Hottest Party 2 is great and definately worth a purchase...
But... I would recommend the you go the PS2 and DDR X instead as you'll then have access to a ton of PS2 DDR titles, new and used and let's face it, there is never enough DDR games... you can always get HP2 later. I picked up a PS2 just for DDR and didn't regret it. Don't get me wrong, I love HP1 & HP2 but you'll really get a kick out the PS2 stuff as well...
Don't forget the Xbox (original) either, I got one from EB games for $34 used with a 1-year warrantee for $4... plus the Ultramix 1-3 DDR games in the bargin bin for $5-$20 each!
Peace,
Knight
Topic: DDR Hottest Party 2: NO SUPPORT FOR 3RD PARTY MATS!!!
Sadly, it is impossible to find Konami original pads in stores... there are compatible 3rd party pads arriving (you can always look for pads listed under the HP2 sections on popular DDR Game websites).
My "Super Sensitive Super Deluxe Premium Edition Dance Pad" (catchy name, eh? but so comfy on the feet, hmmm, soft foam...) don't work on HP2 which is upsetting as there will be no group plays anymore.
My multi-platform pad which works on the PS2 and Wii HP1 & 2 comes with a 4-in-1 control box and works perfectly. In fact, the timings on HP2 are sharper than on HP1.
Does anyone know if peripherals on the Wii have ID tags? If could be feasible that HP2 is looking for a Wii ID on the pad and does not recognize a GameCube tag. Device input timings are different for Wii and GameCube peripherals and backward compatibility can only go so far. The HP2 timing synchs are sharper on HP2. Of course, there may be no ID at all and it is just a Wii vs. GameCube peripheral frequency issue that the Konami team can't detect or work around. Who knows? It would make economic sense for Konami to support GameCube pads for HP1 at that time as there were lots of GameCube compliant 3rd party pads which were then sold as Wii compatible. Moving forward with the franchise Konami may have just decided to bite the bullet and move to ‘Wii pads’ for HP2 and the future. Anyhow, just a theory... Anyone know better?
The sad thing about it is offering 3rd party support or not, people can’t afford to buy new pads. Sales may take a hit and all Wii users want to see more DDR either HP3 or another DDR IP for the platform.

Topic: Poll Question: New Hottest Party 2 Features
New songs. These make or break the game, HP2's are on the fun side (but so is the series) and they have staying power.
The re-work of the course mode was great too. Not mentioned in the list was the workout mode, this had a great make over, just smoother and like the calorie goal saving and going up faster in blocks of 10.

Topic: Hottest Party 2: Kudos Thread, I'm Lovin' it!
Wanted to say kudos to Konami for Hottest Party 2 - Awesome job!
Particularly sweet job on the graphic engine. Just a really well done overall package. Reached the 30+ hour game play mark so I'm happy, it's a keeper! LOL…
Peace,
Knight
PS. It would be great to make this a Thank You thread for the HP2 dev team, so please just post the things that you love or ROCK about HP2 here. There are lots of other threads for feedback for the next DDR Wii incarnation.
Topic: Have you/How much weight have you lost playing DDR (ANY VERSION)
Congratulations SweetPeteDDR! 5 lbs is awesome!
I can attribute DDR solely for getting me off the coach and on my journey. I play for an 60 mins + a day, 5 days a week and have lost an average of 1.75lbs per month, 17lbs lighter since the beginning of the year. The fitter you get the better other things get too, like diet - I now eat vegatables for no apparent reason.
Weight loss does vary overtime, and plateau'ing does occur but just work through it and the weight will continue to fall off. Moving up a difficulty level always raises the bar too. HP2 ROCKS! I got hooked on DDR with HP1 and played it straight for 5 months, then I needed different versions and platforms... LOL... have fun!
Peace,
Knight
Topic: KONAMI - THANK YOU & KUDOS, DDR X
I've got DDR X today and have been playing it until my I could no longer feel my legs.
This is definitive, most incredible DDR yet (I haven't played Hottest Party 2 yet) - hats off to Konami, this is truely is the best PS2 DDR to date. It totally ROCKS! I love everything about it - The DDR team totally nailed it - MARVELLOUS!
THANK YOU & KUDOS
Topic: Thoughts on a PS3 DDR?
I got hooked on Wii then discovered DDR with Hottest Party (and can't wait until 2 is released)... after 5 months of solid playing I went out a brought a PS2 just for more DDR (I was out of control tracking down just about every PS2 DDR game for it as well).
I can see myself getting a 360 as there are a number of games in the Universe series but that would be after a 360 price cut and a new dance pad may take priority first. So PS3 is out of luck for a long time.
Topic: Unlock System
My favourite unlock is a tie between the one in EX2 and Hottest Party.
I play on workout mode alot and would be really happy if there was an unlock every 5 or 10 miles :)
Topic: Freeze arrows, help!
