Though if Paranoia HADES is an 18, I wonder what the heck a 20 will look/sound like?
Probably Dead End GRS. If that's not a 20 I don't want to know what kind of monstrosity is.

Arctic: Uhh A was fairly new at the time of Extreme. 7th style came out in 2002 and EX came at the end of 2002.
HDV is dumb for the fact that its 16ths and not triplets. The chart is solid though. HDVO on the other hand is crap.

-I'm pretty sure we would've heard something about hands and rolls and the like if they existed in any charts.
-I never said you personally would quit, its just the trend these days for someone to be a fanboy and quit because they aren't pleased because X feature is there or missing.
-I like how everyone was *****ing and moaning because we didn't have e-amuse, then we get it at brunswick and its not good enough because not everyone can access it, then we discover unlock codes yet they take too long to be released. Now with DDR X coming more people are *****ing about it being too much like ITG when while there are some similarities, its not totally like it, and no one gives two ****s about e-amuse anymore until DDR X IS RELEASED in the US and we start the cycle all over again.
-Yet on the other side people want it to be like ITG or PIU or whatever game and Konami tries to please them as well and in the end, it seems no one is satisfied and Konami gets a ton of backlash for it.
Fantastic.

I'll just quote my post in the DDR X thread:
Shock arrows wah...
aka who cares when this comes out you won't even notice them after like one round of playing any song with them.
I think the two biggest features of this game are:
-CLASS MODE! I made a thread about it in the General discussion forum a couple months ago actually...but finally! DDR has needed one.
-(If true) Extention of game levels to 13! This is well...big. It may finally mean all the long years of *****ing of why "such and such song is a 10 and x 9 is way harder" will end. Even though i'd honestly prefer 1-12 like IIDX since I can't imagine extending the rating system on DDR to 13 (unless its like one 13 which is Dead end GRS, which would be pointless) and it seems more ITGish.
Those features are making DDR even more IIDXish now than SN2 was. Let's see if they stop butchering songs now lol.
Are you seeing hands in DDR X? No. Rolls? No. Every stupid mod in ITG that while was refreshing for like a day, was completely pointless? No. Songs comprised mainly of 16th streams that kill your stamina or super technical songs of 24ths and 32nds? No.
If ANYTHING, DDR is becoming more like IIDX, which isn't a bad thing at all since that'll probably regain its popularity in Japan since IIDX is uhh, well, selling well there. And regained popularity in Japan=More demand for DDR=Future arcade releases.
One or two measley features from ITG doesn't mean its becoming ITG. Did DDR get the ideas from them? Probably, but so what? They have the rights to it now.
So anyone can whine and cry about the good ol' days of DDR and how Supernova ruined it or its basically like ITG now or whatever but for now you either like the game, or <strike>make a dramatic post about quitting that no one cares about at a ddr forum only to come back in a couple weeks or months</strike> don't like it.
And I stand by my word: No one will care about shock arrows once the game is released.
What we should be debating is whether or not Konami hasn't released e-amuse all over the US yet is because of development on DDR X, and if we will be seeing e-amuse for global edit data support, faster unlocks, and IR. It seems everyone has forgotten that that's really the big issue.

"ErAseRmoTor maXimUM"
Hey Kynayo you spelt "eRAseRmOToRpHAntOM visual emotions video" wrong :).
Seizures ftw.
Topic: KOs you would like to see in future DDRs
SCREAM SQUAD.
And the IDM song by Zektbach. Hell any Zektbach.
More kors k, and no more tatsh (unless it's the dirty of loudness) or terra (eww).
Topic: Difficulty
"Why not just have players rate the charts? Chances are it'd turn out a lot better."
No. It won't. It will turn into a flamewar of "such and such is x not y difficulty". Also that's not reasonable as your saying "HEY PLAYERS RATE EVERYTHING WE'VE EVER MADE K?" Think next time.
I'd rather Konami rerate DDR as its in DIRE need. Do a 1-12 scale like IIDX. The 10 footer range is ridiculously broad now. It's not like our only 10s are MAX songs these days...
As for Oni charts. More of them, and don't pull an SN2 where only boss songs can have them and they have to be a 10 and Expert has to be a lower difficulty (minus pluto relinquish).
And rerate songs more often. There's plenty of 6s and 7s that need down/upgrades. You do it for your other bemani games, why do you treat DDR so differently?
Topic: Dance Dance Revolution X (PS2) discussion.
My ideal DDRX would be to finish off the US...put in the remaining Oni only chart(s?) we haven't seen (MATSURI JAPAN MEGAMIX OMG), FINISH the planet songs, MAX PERIOD, PARANOiA Respect, and the last song i've been waiting to see for ages...Dance Dance Revolution.
By now there's no excuse to keep trying to americanize it. People in the US are aware enough of DDR to know how to play it and maybe even have a few favorite KOs. Im pretty sure a majority of the people that buy it these days are already somewhat established at it. Most people play on Light, not Beginner these days.
I don't care. We'll never have the near full DDR EXJP songlist of 100+ ever again, and no mix has even come close. Japan gets about the same amount we do, so don't complain about "why always 70 songs???"
And to the person that said "13s and 14s", grow up. This isn't ITG and you just look like a stupid fanboy for saying that.

AgoraPerry: When I got to the 8->9-Dan wall it stopped seeming so forgiving, and it's even worse now at the 9->10 wall.
Topic: DDR Class mode
I knew I was forgetting a song (NGO Oni).
But yeah PSMO as an 8th? It may not be the hardest song anymore but it's definitely still up there stamina wise and harder than Chaos Oni, Trim Expert, and Paranoia ~Respect~ Expert (passed that before PSMO).
Topic: What's your favorite DDR Franchise Game, and Why?
Extreme JP and Supernova 2 JP.
Party Collection was probably the best when it came to a mini side release...collection of old favorites and a few new songs on the side. That's how festival and strike should have been honestly.
For the US, Supernova 1 because it was the closest to a direct port we've ever gotten.

"I think what you described as a Kaiden should be 8-9Dan. DDR has room for harder charts in the future."
"in the future"
I'm basing it off of where we are right now. Name charts harder than that that are in the arcade right now.
Topic: DDR Class mode
Kaiden started with Distorted AC and CS. Rival data for Kaiden class players started on Happy Sky CS, but if you want to count the secret scripted connection course as an unofficial Kaiden for HS, then I guess you can.
Now I would think a DDR Kaiden would be along the lines of:
Pluto Relinquish Oni
Paranoia ~Hades~ Oni
Fascination ~eternal love mix~ Oni
Fascination MAXX Oni
A 10-Dan would be:
Paranoia ~Respect~ Expert
MAX 300 (SMMM) Oni
Paranoia Survivor MAX Oni
Healing-D-Vision Oni
And a 9-Dan would be:
MAX 300 Expert
Paranoia Survivor Expert
Fascination ~eternal love mix~ Expert
The legend of MAX Expert
Not nessecarily in those orders..
Topic: DDR Class mode
If you've played IIDX, you're probably familiar with its neat Class mode, if not, this is what it is...
Class mode consists of courses containing of 4 songs (3 if on double mode) of similiar difficulty range. It's meant to help rank yourself against other players in a way to find rivals or track progress. It starts in the Entry level ranks, with the lowest being "7-Kyu", which would be easy level 1s going up to "1-Kyu", which would be ~5s-6s. After that, you get to the main ranks "1-Dan" which would be a slightly harder "1-Kyu", to "10-Dan" consisting of songs at the highest difficulty level (but not hardest songs). Then the top rank is "Kaiden", which is basically the hardest songs in the game.
If that's confusing, it's basically just a bunch of courses in a rank fashion with each course rank above the last being progressively harder
I always loved the Class mode idea even before I started playing IIDX and I was wondering how it would work out in DDR, and if anyone here would want to take a shot at making their own.
Keep in mind it would be like this:
7-Kyu (Easiest/Entry level)
6-Kyu
5-Kyu
4-Kyu
3-Kyu
2-Kyu
1-Kyu
1-Dan (Average/Class level)
2-Dan
3-Dan
...
9-Dan
10-Dan
Kaiden (Hardest)
It would probably be easy to make a fake Kaiden since we all debate about which song is the hardest all the time, so I would like to see the others be created. If anything it would actually be pretty cool to see implemented in future DDR releases and it could even work as a general player-created ranking system if a good one is made.

I've been wanting to get EX JP for quite some time now...but IIDX has been holding my import interest at the moment and i'm going to get most of those styles before I get a DDR import (especially since my metal pad is broken).
Also, i've NEVER heard anything about the Swap Magic being strenuous on your laser, and there's people who have been using it for years...
I've heard of Slide cards being strenuous on your motor, which is why you SHOULD get Swap Magic+Flip Top combo if your PS2 model supports it, but that's it.
I have Swap Magic 3.6+Flip Top since this January and I use it frequently and haven't had any problems other than an occasional disc read error on the Swap Magic disc but that's common.
I have a Swap Magic demo video if you're interested:

Same.
I actually wonder if TGA will be able to connect now since they have it setup, but it's a JP machine IIRC.
Topic: So Konami, what are your plans for...
"Um. Charlene and Xuxa are nothing at all alike. They're just about as different in the expert charts as you can get !"
Yeah sorry I meant Delirium. Just trying to make a point that they're all basically jumps and streams.
