What do you guys think of the new announcer? I like it, it's like a cross between the 5th Mix announcer and DJ Atomika from SSX3/SSX Blur/Burnout Paradise.

Topic: Poll Question: Which unlock mode is your favorite?
I pick Hyper Master Mode. very straightforward, no completely retarted missions like EX2, and custom modules to help you on missions (like reversing Reverse). Second place would be Stellar Master Mode, I think that one has the highest fun factor. I just felt EX2 Dance Master mode was WAY to long and boring. I mean if DDR X is as long as EX2 it will be fine since there's actually a storyline. I never played Xbox/360 mission modes.

...this may change though, if i can somehow connect the PS2 with a wireless USB Internet adapter, then maybe...just maybe i can get online...but i'll try that tomorrow.
If you can find one, get an Ethernet Converter. I got one from Circuit City a little less than a year ago, and I think I got lucky, because I don't think anywhere sells them anymore. You plug your Ethernet cables into the converter, and it converts the Ethernet signals into Wireless signals, so you don't need a super-long Ethernet cable. The device is by Buffalo Technology: http://www.buffalotech.com/products/wireless/wireless-g-mimo-performance/wireless-g-mimo-performance-ethernet-converter
EDIT: There are three of them on ebay.
Topic: Poll Question: How many hours a day do you play DDR?
0 because my Ignition broke and I'm stuck with a crappy gamestop softpad until Bluesharks ship.
Normally I would play for about an hour single player, or an hour and a half online.
If I get a new DDR game or something I'd play for 4+ hours easily.
Topic: Modifiers
I use no mods. If I ever use Solo/Rainbow it's because I like the look, not for visual aid.
My position on Cmods: I believe they should only be allowed on beginner/light mode, as a sort of training wheels. I think it's sad if Expert players can't learn tempo gimmicks. Why bother using Cmods if your score doesn't count anyway, you're only using them to get a better score...
Topic: Poll Question: Network Features
I'm speaking for PS2 Versions.
I choose Communication. It is really a pain to have to type with the controller. I haven't tried a USB Keyboard with SN2 yet, but I doubt it will work since it doesn't say so on the case. And give us voice chat, plenty of people probably have PS2 Headsets. Video chat via EyeToy (or PlayStation Eye if DDR ever makes it to PS3) can be handy also.
Second place would be Co-Op, there isn't really any Co-Op/Tournament mode in the PS2 versions so that would be a nice add. Maybe 4-vs-4 or 8-vs-8 team play or something, whichever team gets the most cumulative points wins (with handicaps of course).

I don't find the new rating system very confusing at all like some of you guys do. I just look at it like this:
The 1-9 foot difficulty range is expanded to 1-14
The current 10 foot difficulty has been expanded to 14-18
19-20 difficulty will be on par with/close to ITG 13s.

Luckily for those who have v0.5, the upgrade is just under 4MB. The full pack is about 193MB for those who haven't.
Go to the new site, dmashurapack.webs.com, to get v0.6 when it releases! The site also has a forum for discussion and submissions, check it out. The project will be permanently moved to that site.
Topic: Why is Trim so broken?
I must be the only one who likes tempo gimmicks. I think they're fun. It creates artificial difficulty, which when not in excess, is fun to me. I guess I'm just weird.
The one thing that annoys me though is Fascination MAXX's 64th note syndrome. The song is impossible to edit in edit mode because of it. And it was not even remotely necessary.

Topic: Preferred Dance Pad
At HOME moose.
Anyway, RedOctane Ignition pads are the best foam pads, and should be what you get if you don't get a metal pad. You can't really expect to get better on anything less. There are a number of Ignition knock-offs, I think people say BNS Fuzion pads are good.
If you're going to go for a metal pad, the only two that are worth it are the Cobalt Flux or Blueshark. The CF is $300, flat, durable, compatible with PS2, Xbox, and PC, right out of the box. You have to pay an extra $25 for recessed arrows like the arcade though. The Blueshark is $400 and best replicates an arcade pad, but is close to impossible to get right now.
I don't have an opinion on the best pad since I never had a metal pad, but I think I speak for most people when I say Bluesharks are the best pads, second only to actual ITG arcade pads.
