The 8-arrow mode and downloable content are only available for the PS3/360 versions of the game which is set to release this spring.

Yup, the second controller gets plugged into the socket right next to the first one, the third one next to the second one, etc. etc.

Usually when this problem occurs, it's because the dance pad is plugged into the wrong socket.

Make sure the dance mat is plugged into the Player 1 socket. This is the controller socket that is closest to the power button.

Fresh off the heels of their recent United States CS releases, Konami has announced a location test for the Arcade version of DanceDanceRevolution X2. The location test will take place at Tokyo Leisure Land in Akihabara, Tokyo, about five minutes from the Akihabara station on foot. The hours are 10AM to 1AM from November 25th to December 3rd.

And, by the way, when this test was announced, it was the 20th of November Japan time. Just a coincidence?

X2 is you want harder difficulty and songs from the Japanese games.

HP3 is you want more licenses and cool graphics (dance routines etc.)

DDR X was basically handled by an entirely different team than SuperNOVA2 and SuperNOVA were, which is why you saw DDR X have such a different song selection and other weird things in X. 

Since a lot of the people who worked on X have moved on from Konami, I think you'll probably see the next AC game be more like SuperNOVA2 than X, but we shall see!

Here's a really detailed review of HP3.

They're not direct ports of HP dance routines, but they use the same "moves", if that makes sense. The Wii games basically have a certain number of "moves" the characters can do, which the developers combine to make a dance routine. With each game, they add more and more "moves", so the dance routines look more complex and unique. DDR X uses those "moves" to make specific dances for their songs too.

There are basically four types of dances in DDR X

Old songs' dance routines: These use the SuperNOVA/SuperNOVA2 random dances

New songs' dance routines (Does not bring in 2nd character during gameplay): These dances are sort-of random. They are predefined, but they are pretty much random dancing save for the beginning and the end. However, the dance moves themselves are ported from HP/HP2.

New songs' dance routines (Brings in 2nd character even during single play): These are predefined dances that clearly go with the music throughout the song. Examples include Butterfly, Dream Machine, and Dance Floor. The dance moves are ported from HP/HP2.

Wii crossover's dance routines: These are ported from the actual game. There are only three: will, INTO YOUR HEART (Ruffage remix), and LOVING YOU (Epidemik mix).

I've been told to call up Betson and request it.

That does seem rather odd. The review is overly positive, yet they gave it such a low rating.

NAOKI is confirmed to be one of the developers working on a Natal game. He talks a lot about dancing and music games, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the next 360 DDR game (not the one coming up next year, the one after that) will have a Natal mode. If it does, I can't wait to see how it works heh.

Microsoft has confirmed that Konami is one of the major developers that are working on projects for Natal. Perhaps this makes it more likely that DDR will see some Natal!
