I don't play challenge courses, but reading this makes me want to make a modded challenge course for StepMania.

Console: Konamix, then DDR 1st US. Utopia said it all.

Arcade: 5th, then 4th Mix Plus and Extreme. Amazing songs, charts, and interfaces.

 I still want that PS1 DDR Revival for the 10th anniversary.

Q: What level charts do you think there are generally too many and too few of (going by foot rating)?

A: 7-8, then 10 or higher. 

Q: Should tens use time gimmicks to make reading the song harder?

A: Only a few. 

Q: If you LIKE gimmicks, do you think songs like FELM overuse stops and tempo changes?

A: I think the maximum needed would be 5 stops (if they fit the music well) and 4 BPM changes (Again, if they fit). Any more would probably be killing the chart. 

Q: Do you think mines, hands, or rolls will ever find a home in DDR? Do you think we might see another new type of arrow (like the hand movements in HP)? Should Konami put mines/hands/rolls into DDR?

A: They might, yes, and yes. 

Q: Should Konami gradually add in new difficulty levels (perhaps, add one more "foot" rating per release until they reach songs that cannot be beat at first), or should they just jump right in to making 13s and maybe even 14s and up?

A: I think they should jump to 12s, then keep going from there. 

Q: Should they do things on the scale that we've come to know in the ITG and SM community, or should they reinvent the entire scale to be something different?

A: ITG/SM, definitely. 

Q: Should every song have a challenge chart? Should challenge charts be the hardest charts, or should they add in an even harder chart (having a total of 6 or more for single) on songs that they think merit an extremely difficult chart?

A: If a song deserves six charts, give it six charts, but Challenge would be good enough for most.  

Q: Should Konami consider having step chart contests within the community? Would you like to see charts more like those from the best Stepmania authors in DDR, or do you prefer the style of charts currently in DDR?

A: YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! PLEEEEEEASE!

Q: Do you prefer charts (specifically hard charts) from the American or Japanese team? If you played the challenge charts in the Universe series, what did you think of those?

A: I'm not really sure... 

Q: Do you prefer a boss song (anywhere in the 10-16 range) to sound like a "boss song" (menacing, fast, etc.), or do you really care as long as the steps fit the music?

A: I think as long as the steps fit, it'll do, although the boss song sound has a certain feel to it... 

EDIT: Yeah, R2112 charts are awesome. Silicon is extremely gimmicky, but the million stops and tempo changes fit the music well. 

Those look amazing... pricey though...
