Get a PS2 DDR game that has a number 2 in it.  I.E. MAX2, Extreme2, or SN2.  The songlist on those games are more enjoyable (if you exclude the US licensed & kareoke stuff)

Arrow stomping leads to very bad things... metal parts around the sensors will come off, everytime you step on the sensor it'll go deeper making a "springs inside a plastic box" sound, and (this last one I witnessed) the plexiglass covering the sensor will crack in half rendering the sensor useless.

I think arcade owners should stick signs that say something familar to what I just typed so that maybe the brainless monkeys that wanna jump around on it will take a hint.

Depending on BPM... like anything between 100-170 i use 2x.  Anything between 175-200 I use 1.5x.  anything above that is 1x.

Big difference between xbox and ps2 versions are the graphics... meaning the theme, bg videos and the dancers.  I have no idea why Konami decided to go all out on the Ultramixes rather than make it the same as the ps2 versions because it just makes no sense, and the fact that you have to buy MORE songs on xbox live is kind of a rip-off IMO.  That, plus sometimes all the action going on during gameplay makes the arrow scroll laggy.

There is only ONE song from DDR that DOES have hands... it is called "Oh La La" and it is featured on Europe's Dancing Stage... it is a very old song and file because it used the same graphics as "Dub-I-Dub"

"And some DDR 10's are 9ish, even 8ish"

Um, not even close... Maybe that would be the case for like "SAKURA" but that's about it... if anything, I'm suprised "SO DEEP (PERFECT SPHERE REMIX)" isn't a 10.  Other then that, most 10's on DDR really feel like 10's.  Only 10's i can pass are Sakura, Bag, and sometimes PARANOiA Survivor on a good day with a B.  With the exception of SUperNova 2, DDR has pretty much gotten their rating system down to a tea... it was always ITG's rating that was a little off... that's why when ITG2 came out, they fixed some ratings, cause before "ANUBIS" was a 9 on expert before it became a 10, which makes more snese cause I could never clear the hard part with the 32nd streams.

There is really no need for a PS3 DDR.  The PS2 is still going strong.  I've seen discussions like this on othner sites before.  if you want something that looks and plays like it would come close to a PS3 version, get DDR Universe.

Besides... when PS2 came out, it could play BOTH the old 3 ddr PS1 games (DDR, Disney Mix, & Konamix), so it was a plus for anyone that had the home version and if they made any edits on those, it could be easily transfered to the later PS2 games (DDRMAX - DDRExtreme 2). If I remember correctly, PS3 can't play PS1 or PS2 games (or so thats what I was told), so if your a player like me, who has every single ddr game, your basically S.O.L.

I have a few favorites, I can't pick just one, so I'll just list them from Consol to arcade.

::CONSOL::

Since I'm not an import player, I'll just talk about the USA home releases.

By far my ALL time favorite DDR Game was, and still is, DDR Konamix.  The reason... simple... Best songlist ever.  The Earth Light, Trip Machine (LuvMix), Salamander Beat Crush Mix, Perfect Free, Celebrate Nite, R3, Holic, DXY!, Cutie Chaser, Genom Screams... these are just a few examples of the songs that I love the most.  It just had all the different varieties going all the way back from 2nd Mix Club Version (Salamander Beat Crush Mix, The Earth Light) to DDR Solo mix (Celebrate Nite) to DDR 6th Mix (Look To The Sky, On The J****.  Plus the steps matched perfectly with the songs and had a great flow, and didnt have any cheap gimmics or had too many elements like cross-overs.  This is how a TRUE USA DDR game should be all the time... graphics aside, cause i know it was based on the 4th mix theme but that's a MINOR flaw anyone can over-look, especially if you have alot of fans like me, who love old-skool.

My second favorite is the first DDR game for PS1... based off the 3rd mix but the songlist was also awesome because it was pretty much like the arcade version with the exception of a few songs, which is ok since they were later released on Konamix anyways.  What I don't understand is why there was such a conflict over the song Butterfly and why you guys took it out during final productions.

And lastly, all the Ultramix Games... why?  Because the songs of course... only reason why I fall in love with any DDR game.  .59 Remix, Nemesis, I Feel... (TOY Mix), ZETSUBOUTEKIDA!, Skulk, Nari Narien Jay Dabhi remix... a few of my all time favorites.  PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASE, have these songs appear on either an arcade or a PS2 game in the future... this is my only request.

 ::ARCADE::

My all time favorite mix is DDR 5th mix.  Moonlight Shadow, Never Ending Story, and Hot Limit are my top 3 favorire 5th mix songs of all time.  Plus the additoon of the DDR solo songs like Sexy Planet and Celebrate nite also are awesome.  4th Mix Plus songs like Do Me and Cat's Eye are also my favorites.  This version is just flawless in my eyes.

My second favorite goes to DDR 4th mix... all the songs from DDR 1-3 plus songs for the 4th mix... which in my opinion are the best songs and the ones that started it all, making history... sheer brilliance, end of story.

As far as a new PS2 version is concerned, I hope the USA get's a good deal.  In Japan, they have DDR games for the PS2 that don't follow the traditional DDR cronological order (I.E. DDR Arcade versions). DDR Str!ke, and DDR Party Collection are the 2 games that dont follow the order, but yet have that same feel like the other games, while still giving the public new songs to play.

The USA DDR PS2 Games really didnt start following the chronological order till DDRMAX, and even then, we still haven't had the pleasure of playing every song that was on an arcade machine (specially since Freckles had to wait till DDR SN1 to make a USA appearance).  The First DDR game, and DDR Konamix followed the 3rd and 4th mix style (for those of you keeping score at home).  Everything else hasn't followed the order but have either been on other consols (DDR Ultramix & Universe + DDR Hottest Party), or just a cheap attempt to promote something to make it even more popular (DDR Disney Channel & DDR Mario Mix).  DDR Extreme 2 doesn't count as a game that didnt follow the order cause it DOES follow an order... the USA order, which is the "Two Part Series" order.

Ultramix and Universe are great ideas but others can agree with me when I say that 1. it kinda isn't fair  that it's ONLY for the X-Box and 360 when even though their popular machines (although X-Box is out-dated), the PS2 is still going strong, and 2. the fact that it has the tendancy to lag a bit, graphic wise and sync wise, has most players frustrated.  It's pretty much how SEGA described Nintendo back in the early days... Geneses can do what NintenDONT, and it's obvious that the PS2 get's the job done better than the X-Box or 360... which is why i say that it's time for the USA to have their own "DDR Party Collection" game, that incorperates some songs from past PS2 games, sticks some Ultramix/Universe songs, plus exclusive USA only songs (and I don't mean just Licensed songs, I'm talkin Konami Originals).

I hate rap for the same reason I hate heavy Metal.

Think of the most annoying sound your ears have had the upmost misfortune to have ever heard... thats what Rap music is like to me.

Besides, majority of rap music has subliminal messages and is part of the reason why the young generation is so messed up, and getting worse by the year.  It's true what some comedians say about rap music too... back then in the 70's and maybe early 80's it used to have alot of soul and love... now it's all about who shot this person, or what drug he took and smoked, or what B!TC# he had S.E.X. with.

""Well it's a little difficult to use the Konami code given that a PS2 does not have buttons labeled "A" and "B" Tongue out""

The only thing DIFFICULT about that game is Mission Mode, cause if you complete all 100, you unlock everything, except for memories.  I still have HUGE problems trying to clear Mission 98, meanwhile I can do every other mission with ease.

I've played both nonstop and challenge courses... mostly on extreme AC... the nonstops are easy, its just the challenge corses that are harder, aside from the fact that your only limited to a certain amount of mistakes.

I'm hoping that Konami sticks an old-skool 90's dance song like Rhythm Is A Dancer in one of their games.

Or maybe an early millenium song like The Sound Of Goodbye

Tri-County Flee Market in Levittown, NY... its like within walking distance from my house so its good for me ^_^ They have an R21+ Machine and a DDR Extreme machine that if you push a button on the side, it switchs to StepMania with DDR 1-8, all the Ultramixes, and some really old files from Bemanistyle from like years ago.

Sometimes I also go to Dave & Busters in Farmingdale to Play SN2

Good, I was waiting for one of these to pop up.

I've had this idea for a while that would benefit the USA consol version... hopefully other people will like it as well.

a 2 Disc (yes, 2) DDR game... prefferably for the PS2 because its smoother with graphics and is dead on with the "arcade feel" rather than other systems (don't quote me on that, i don't own a wii or xbox 360 so i could be wrong).  The first disc is the main game, giving the USA ALOT OF SONGS FROM PAST JAPAN DDR GAMES GOING BACK TO 2ND MIX ALL THE WAY TO SUPERNOVA 2 THAT DID NOT MAKE A USA CONSOL APPEARANCE, if not ALL the songs.  MAYBE slip in a few licensed songs if Konami wanted to, but nothing stupid like anything Britney Spears related.  The unlock systems could be something like 1. "for every 3 songs you play a new one gets unlocked" 2. "Fail a song to unlock this song" 3. "complete these songs in this order to unlock THIS song"... you know simple stuff... no stupid "MASTER" mode

The second disk is a "bonus party game" disc kind of thing.  This is what I mean... anyone that has a saved data file of DDRMAX - DDR SuperNova 2, once they go to play the game, before the game goes to all the menu's like "select style" and such, it searches the memory card for any game data from past games, and if it finds a game data like lets say DDRMAX2, a few songs at random from that game would automatically be on the select music screen (like Conga Felling, Dream A Dream, and Vanity Angel for example).  In order to unlock the remaining songs from that game series they would have to get a good grade on the heavy difficult.  AAA = 3 more songs unlocked from that game series, AA = 2 more songs, and an A would = one more song... so bascially if you're like me that has every single USA home version, you'd be playing the bonus disk and just continue to unlock alot of stuff with ease... the no "MASTER" mode rule would also apply to this disc as well.  Oh and for the DDR and Konamix games, you would have to fully complete a song that made more than one appearance in a DDR USA game to unlock the rest of the songs from the PS1 series (I.E. AM-P3).. same goes for the Ultramix songs... play a song that was also on ultramix and THEIR songs will start to pop up.

Both disc's would only have "Game Start", "Course Mode", "Options", and "Information" at the main menu screen.  The second disc would also have "Magic Dance" which would be locked utill you have unlocked and played the Non-Disney Mix songs that were actually IN disney mix.  Then, if you play battle mode and beat the CPU opponent on the hard level, for like either 3 or 5 rounds, ALL of the disney mix songs would be unlocked.  Ive even though about continuing the goodies by doing something like "once you have every single song in your posession, guess what... MESH MODE!!!" and once you have mesh mode, all the DDR Mario Mix songs would be available.

Of course, I highly doubt you would be able to fit all that in one disc, so maybe the second disc would have to be split into two parts... PS2 only, and then the other consols.  The save data for the "bonus" disc would have a percentage as to how far you have completed the songlist and what songs EXACTLY you unlocked, so that way if you would to insert bonus disc part 2 into the machine, it would read it, the songs would pop up and then boom, your set to play part 2.  So in conclusion... 3 disc's... ALOT of songs.  It's a no brainer, specially since the game doesn't have any other modes, so it leaves room for more songs.  It's a must have for any hardcore fan, plus, you can trade-in or sell your other older ddr games for cash or something else cause you wouldnt need those anymore... its pretty much like your "recycling" those games... specially so that the game stores can have more copeis of those older games, and then they can buy it, and then trade it back in, and it'd just be one cycle of people helping out each other in the end.

pointless debate is pointless -_-

Look, I miss ITG's songs and stepcharts just as much as anyone else, but just be glad that there are still some ITG2 R21+ machines floating around.  In fact, if you think about it, ITG game itself, as it stands now, is filling its purpose... A StepMania Arcade Machine with ITG1 & 2 with the option to stick your own custom songs in it.  After all, Chris Danford's name and the StepMania team ARE on the ITG credits after all.  Only obvious difference is the fancy theme and different grading system.

Besides, have some of you people ACTUALY played the "complete" ITG3 pack?  Go ahead and PM me for the link if you want it, cause let me tell you... a few songs are missing difficulties and the heavier charts like Hard and Expert are BEYOND wierd and abstract.  Disconected Hardkore is a perfect example of an Expert chart that's much better for an average KB SM File pack rather than a stepchart for the arcades on pad (in b4 "Oh but I can do that with ease")

I'm with you on the whole ITG thing, but judging by how heavily modded the ITG thread is on here, I highly doubt we will ever see anything ITG related again.  It seems Konami want's to pretend ITG doesnt even exist, let alone accept the fact that it had a bigger fan base and was doing better than ddr did at the time.  You'll know Konami is going for a Monopoly when they try to attack PIU
