Epic Bump.
In two days, the site will have it's 2nd Year Anniversary!
And...well, i couldn't really come up with anything for this day, but i just wanted to bump this thread just because of it's 2nd anniversary!
I can't even believe that it's been TWO years already! So many good memories from this site, so many friends met just for one purpose: DDR.
I really have enjoyed my time spent here in the forums, meeting great people and for the team that helps organize this website. So thanks guys for your support :).
2009 saw the releases of DDR Hottest Party 3 (Wii) and DDR X2 (PS2), arguably two DDR games that should NOT be left out. What will 2010 have in store for us? DanceDanceRevolution for the PS3 and 360, and a possibility of a DDR X3 coming late 2010? We'll just have to see :3.
Hope you guys are enjoying yourself on the site, and may we get to a 3rd year! :D
Topic: Can anyone help and tell me 2 things about a mat with a usb?
Hey Atm1297,
Well, if it's a mat with a USB connector, then more than likely it is either for the 360 or PC.
There are ways to connect the mat to your computer, you have to go through the Start menu, go to settings and default programs, choose game controllers, and then you have to configure the mat to the computer.
But that's not all! Once you configure it into the computer, you then have to open up Stepmania, go to the joystick/controller settings, and where it says to input the buttons, you have to press each of the buttons that corresponds to the mat (ex. Left button is Left, Right button is Right, Start button is Start, etc.).
As for 360, if the mat said anything that it can connect itself to the 360, then it should connect itself to it.
Topic: DanceDanceRevolution X2 (PS2)
thanks Atm1297, good to see you back here too :)
Yes i own both DDR X2 and Stepmania, and i gotta say i love both just as equally as i like all the other DDR games for the PS2/Xbox/360/Wii.
For X2, i would say if you don't plan on getting a PS3/360 anytime soon, get it.
If your a REALLY big fan of the PS2 DDR titles AND own a PS3 and/or 360, then get it.
Other than that, i would just suggest to wait for the PS3/360 version to come out. I've been hearing A LOT of good things coming from the DDR X2 AC from Japan, and i REALLY do hope that some of the songs that are going to be included in the game get exported to the DDR PS3/360 version ^_^.
Did you guys know that during the AOU 2010 conference in Japan yesterday that there is a DDR X3 ALREADY in development? I call this for the next PS2 game for 2010 :P
As for Stepmania, well it's a good program i'll give you that. Although i haven't really played it much since after DDR X/DDR SN2.
Topic: Introductions - Introduce Yourself to the DDR Community!
Welcome to the forums lumamario!
Unfortnately, the option to change your icon on this website has been turned off due to malfunctions from the server. You CAN change the person in the icon if you go to "Edit Account", change to your favorite character, and it will come up.
Hope this helps out any, and if you need any more help, just let me, Silvercube, or any of the admins know ;)
Topic: Weight Loss?
Well, during the summer of 2007, i was REALLY overweight (i was weighing in at around 170lbs at the age of 15).
so during that ENTIRE summer, i stuck myself on a diet and played DDR at least for more than 1 hour every single day.
The outcome? I list a total of 25lbs at the end of the summer vacation, so i went from around 170lbs to about 156lbs.
I have to admit, i haven't really been much into DDR now that i am in community college, and i must also admit that i have been packing in a few more weight, BUT nonetheless i know what to do if things get out of hand, and thanks to DDR, i can easily keep track of my weight loss and have fun at the same time :D
Topic: DanceDanceRevolution 2010 State Wide Championship! (West Virginia ONLY)
Found this while scouring the internet for DDR Tournaments...
DanceDanceRevolution 2010 State Wide Championship!
The ENTIRE state of West Virginia's schools are participating in what seems to be an official DDR Tournament for their school system as part of the Games Teach Health program.
This is excellent news! Although i speak for myself when i say that i REALLY want this idea to expand more to other school districts across the US so that there can be a National Championship for schools.
Why? Simple, a LOT of kids love video games, and since DDR falls into the category of video games, and is a REALLY good tool for exercising children/teens, it is an absolute instant hit for any school to have in their curriculum.
Konami, if your reading this, I would want to say two things:
1. AWESOME.
2. This NEEDS to expand to different schools across the United States. West Virginia isn't the ONLY state to have DDR-related clubs/sports you know ;)
So what's the prize for the winners of this championship? a $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP + MORE! Talk about a prize that will go with you for your education! This is literally a HUGE step towards both friendly competition between schools, making new friends, and for good awareness of health.
If it's not much to ask, i wish this to be stickied to either the Events and Tournaments forum OR the Health Forum of the site.
...and if it were on the front page, that would be nice too :)
I will try and e-mail the e-mail address listed on the link to get any updates on the tournament info and the winners as well AND for them to advertise THIS website during the tournaments.
Topic: New DDR for 360 and PS3 POSTPONED AGAIN!?
Yeah, it seems that they are trying to postpone the game for maybe a couple of reasons:
1. Their not ready to release the final product yet.
2. they want to match the US's PS3 version with Japan's DDR X2 CS (which by the way is coming out for the PS3...we assume).
3. The PS3 and 360 versions will be THE 2010 DDR games for this year (as for PS2? Don't know, there may be a PS2 version this year, but i sort of doubt it).
And i do find it incredibly weird that no info has come out of those two games since E3 2009...ESPECIALLY on their website too >_>.
Topic: a bar for home...? is it possible w/o a metal mat?
Well, unfortunately i didn't have enough money to buy the ones with the bar, but i can probably tell that when they put the bar there, THEY MEAN SERIOUS BUSINESS (lol).
With a bar on your metal mat, i would think that it SHOULD be able to sustain yourself from the hard 10's or anything else, I have seen videos of people (search for "xkonsentox" on Youtube, he has videos of himself playing Hard 10 songs with a metal mat + bar) and from my viewpoint, it can withstand about a good 200lbs of pressure maximum...but that's just my guess, but i DOUBT it couldn't hold up to 100 pounds, then there shouldn't even BE a bar there in the first place :P
As for it being detachable, i'm not too sure on that one, BUT i WOULD think that there are some mats out there that come with the bar un-detached to the back, and that you have to hook it up to the back of the mat yourself...need to do some research on that >_>
Topic: noisy pad... it's not me, everybody else gets annoyed by it...
Hey brinoiz,
Noisy mat huh? Same here dude :P
I guess you can say it is a problem the mat and the player have to figure out, in the sense that you have to find someway for it to not make TOO much noise, but at the same time check if your mat makes the noise even though your trying to not make that much noise.
Good suggestion: Play during the day (obviously...lol), but another suggestion would be to make sure you have the mat secured, because if your playing a song and it moves around, not only will that create MORE noise but then you will be out of sync with the song and then well...you get the idea.
Investing on a hard foam mat might just work, i have played on them and the only sound you can hear is the TV :P
Also, it really depends on experience with your mats, i have had a LONG experience with flat plastic mats, a few years experience with metal, and only a small amount of time with hard foam mats. Once you can "master" the way your mats work and maneuver, then you can "master" it, if you get what i am saying.
Hope this helps :)
Topic: a bar for home...? is it possible w/o a metal mat?
Hey brinoiz,
Well, i DO know of DDR mat model TX's that CAN and some that even COME with their own pads...
Have you tried looking through www.ddrgame.com yet? It's a great place to find ALL sorts of DDR mats for almost any console (literally, they now have pads for the PS3). And if you think the price is too high, take down the name of the model of the mat and search for it online through ebay or any other online store for a cheaper price ;)
As for MAKING a bar, i am not too keen on that subject, i would just make do with what i have for a "bar" (stool, chair, desk, etc.) :P
Hope this helps out :D
Topic: DDR Info?
Well zenius-i-vanisher really has no tournament information on it, probably the ONLY tournament info it has is about the 2009 DDR National Championships and that's about it.
bemanistyle may be different though, so i would suggest checking there and see if there is an upcoming tournament in your area OR if there IS a tournament being held already.
DDR Encore is like a... modified DDR machine with user-created songs, and they hold contests on both which songs gets to be put into the arcade AND DDR Encore tournaments at arcades where the players play the songs from DDR Encore. I mean, i haven't tried it before, but heck, it's just another "DDR-style" tournament if you ask me :P
Topic: DDR Info?
I don't go on DDRfreak.com anymore, in fact, that place doesn't even come CLOSE to this and another site that i go to for up-to-date info on DDR and anything BEMANI related...
www.zenius-i-vanisher.com - Great site, ALWAYS up-to-date, and it's just a really good site for all your BEMANI needs :)
www.bemanistyle.com - also another good site, but this one also hits anything music-rhythm related as well.
and then there's this site and that's all the ones that i know :P
Topic: help please
Hey diamitah,
Are you talking about this?
If so, then that bar is ONLY there to help you keep the beat of the song, now there IS an option i believe that allows you to turn off this "gimmick",
Before you select a song in the Select Music menu, go to your immediate left and go to the "Options album", from there you can turn off any gimmicks such as using the Wiimote and other things so that the only thing you would be playing is the arrows...
...now i don't own a Wii myself so i REALLY don't know if this will work, but i have seen a lot of videos on this so hopefully this will work out for you.
Topic: DanceDanceRevolution X2 (PS2)
I am guessing that it is saying that once you get every tile and you get every side of the dice 6 times, you place that one die (for example, "1") and you place it six times on the die so that no matter what you roll, you will ALWAYS end up with "1".
It might go the same way for the characters too, so i don't know...
...and if THAT doesn't work, then it COULD mean to try it on EVERY number from 1 - 6 using the method above ^
Topic: Turning off the Wii mote?
Hey Laureneve13,
There should be a mode when you go into the "options" before you choose a song and from there, you can go into a "gameplay" options where you turn off the "gimmicks", which is basically using the Wiimote while playing the game.
Hope this helps :)
Topic: Please help with DDR Hottest Dance Party 3 Mat
Hey clubangel77789,
From what i can understand about the DDR mats for Hottest Party 3, 2, and 1, you simply hook the mats to the side of the Nintendo Wii, where there should be a place to hook up, let's say, a Gamecube Controller. The Hottest Party DDR mats have the Gamecube port on them, so you have to hook them up to that port to make them work on the game.
Since you have Hottest Party 3, if by any chance you have the Wii Balance board, you can use that in a special mode JUST for HP3, but you can also still use the DDR mats as well.
Hope this helps :)
Topic: TUESDAY DANCE OFF CHALLENGE
So in other words, we can play those three songs in any order we want, BUT it HAS to be those three songs, right?
If so, then it's ok, whether or not it's in that order or in any order, i can still manage :)
